That's how we ended up sitting in Henry's office, covered in pasta sauce, mushroom soup, ketchup and Coke. I felt disgusting. I'm pretty sure there was a shrimp in my bra. Henry was staring at us disapprovingly.

"Really, kids? This is the first time you come back here, after two months, and this is what you do? I'm not going to deny, you kids are like my own but this is just too much! I thought we were past all this?" He scolded, folding his arms over his chest.

"Henry, I swear, it wasn't my fault. He was the one who started it." I defended.

"Gee, rat much?" Julian muttered.

"I wouldn't trade my life for you." I spat, still mad about what he did to my book.

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, probably because you'd be too busy buying new clothes from you dad's money to trade for anything else except hand bags and make-up."

I glared at him. "At least I don't trade my money for pot."

Before he could make a come back, Henry interrupted. "Okay, kids! Stop it, stop this, okay? You've been at each other's throats since the day you guys could walk." He sighed and rubbed his temples. Henry looked really tired.

I immediately felt bad. He didn't only have a diner to run but he also had a family to take care of. He didn't need more problems like two teenagers disrupting his hard work.

I looked down. "I'm really sorry, Henry. I should've known better than to read at a diner. It won't happen again." I said.

I could feel Julian's eyes on me. I merely sighed and slumped my shoulders.

"That's alright, Claire." Henry sounded resigned. Then he continued, "But I'm going to let you know something; if you guys ever start another stunt like the one you just pulled, both of you will be banned from my diner until further notice."

As soon as Henry said that, me and Julian looked up at him, staring at him as if he just killed our pet dog or goldfish.

"Am I clear?"

"But Henry-"

"Why would you-"

"Am. I. Clear?" Henry said, firmly this time.

Me and Julian sighed, defeated. "Fine." We said at the same time.

"Good. Now, go clean up the mess you both made."

Ugh. My worst enemy: cleaning.
