Cal's POV

The week was passing quickly and soon it was Wednesday, time for the dance. I touched the soft

chiffon of my dress. I was so excited to wear it. I looked in the mirror. I had done my hair in soft curls and

let it stay down. Even curled, my hair came down about 6 inches below my shoulders. My makeup was

minimal: a nude smokey eye brought out the browns and greens in my eyes and a winged eyeliner

made them pop. I swiped on mascara and... done. I smiled, I was hardly ever happy with my reflection

but tonight, I felt pretty. I slipped into my dress and loved that the chiffon was smooth on my skin.

Looking in the mirror again, I admired my dress. It was a Sweet Surrender Strapless Chiffon Designer

Dress by Minuet in Coral. (side note: look that up and you can find a picture of it, it's really cute!) It

accentuated my curves and the color was good with my skin. Satisfied with the results, I grabbed my

gold arm band and wrapped it around my bicept. I pulled on my heels and turned around to look at my

friends. They were all gorgeous in their dresses. We got a ton (and I mean, A TON) of pictures and

decided to head out.

When we got to the meeting area, (like the pavilion but, like, 10 times bigger) someone gave us each

half of a heart. I saw that Jack and Josh had already gotten their partners and I smiled. Someone

walked up to me and said, "Let's see if they fit, shall we?" I groaned, "No, Carson, I am not trying to fit

mine with yours." He grinned and said, "We might as well try. I promise not to kiss you." I narrowed my

eyes and cautiously put my necklace next to his. It fit. You might as well just shoot me now. His grin got

wider and he put out his hand. "Well, looks like we're partners," he took my hand and pulled me on the

dance floor. Of course this would happen to me, I thought. I sighed and put my hand on his shoulder.

He put his hand on my waist (gag) and pulled me close. I didn't look him in the eyes as we danced. We

were practically hugging because of how close he pulled me in. Surprisingly, he was a pretty good

dancer and he spun me like I was a ballet dancer. He pretend dipped me and I looked to where Jack

was dancing and his face was stony. I knew he was being protective since Carson was a jerk to me

before.

As we were dancing, Carson leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I know you hate me but I'm going to

keep messing with your friends and hitting on you..." I clenched my jaw and narrowed my eyes, "unless"

he went on "you kiss me." I pulled back, repulsed. He smirked and said, "you know I'm just going to

keep giving them hell. I also have a lot of blackmail material. I can get them suspended or even

expelled with one call. Just one real kiss and I'll stop. Promise." He knew he hit a nerve. He was good

at that. "If I kiss you, you'll never bug them again? And you'll stop hitting on me?" He nodded. I

swallowed. Guess I don't have much of a choice. I swallowed again and thought, here goes nothing. I

leaned in and closed my eyes. Our lips met and he kissed back, very passionately. He pulled me in, not

letting me stop. Finally I pulled away and glared at him. He was smiling but not at me. I turned to see

what he was looking at and saw Jack's retreating back as he walked away from the dance floor. My

face must have held confusion because Carson said, "You really are blind." I looked back at him

confused and Carson laughed, "Are you serious? You don't even see it? Jack's not mad because he's

your friend, he's mad because he's falling for you. You just kissed me willingly and he saw it all." His

cocky smirk made me want to throw up. "See ya Cal." He walked away, leaving me alone on the dance

floor.
