It's ruined

Cal's POV

I sat there in shock as Meg smirked. Jack glanced at me and I thought, well this is not exactly how I

planned it. Not that I planned it or anything. He looked at her and said, "Pass." She looked disappointed

and nodded. I looked at Jack, dumbfounded. Pass? Really? We only used those if the dare were truly

awful. Am I that bad? I am offended, relieved and disappointed. And it wasn't because I liked him (do

I?), it was insulting that he "passed". I clenched my jaw and watched in silence as he continued the

game and asked Anders truth or dare. 

Jack's POV

Holy. Crap. What was I supposed to do? I wanted to kiss her, more than anything. But for a dare? No

way. If I was going to kiss her, she would know that I liked her, not for some stupid game. I glanced at

Cal a couple minutes later and her jaw was set. Was she... disappointed? I shook the thought away.

There was no way she was, she didn't feel the same way about me. 

After the game, we watched a couple episodes of Once Upon a Time, a show that the girls were

obsessed with. I told Cal that we should probably leave and she didn't even look at me. The ride home

was completely silent. When we stopped at her house, I started to get out but Cal just opened the door

and started walking. I jogged around to catch up. "Cal, wait. CAL!" She stopped and turned. "Am I that

bad?" she asked. I was really confused and she continued. "You didn't want to kiss me. Am I that bad?"

Her expression was angry but her eyes held hurt and sadness. I felt terrible that she thought I didn't like

her. "Cal, of course not. I just... we're best friends... and - you know... I didn't want it to happen like that -"

I stopped immediantly, realizing what I just said. Her eyes widened. "Wait... what do you mean, happen

like that?" I swallowed and shook my head. "Um... I gotta go. I'll see you at church tomorrow." I turned

hesitantly, away from her, she was still staring at me confused. I started to walk back to my car and I

heard her finally turn around. I made a split second decision and ran back to her. I grabbed her elbow

and turned her to face me. She looked confused and I almost smiled. I leaned down and put my lips on

hers. At first, she didn't react but she didn't push me away. I pulled her closer and thought, it's finally

happening. Sparks seem to shoot through my entire body and I broke away. "I meant I wanted it to

happen like that." I said. I turned and got into my car and started to drive to my house, leaving her there

looking in shock. Besides the obvious happiness, one thought echoed through my mind: I just ruined

everything.
