"Ooh!" Adrian called after four hours of driving. "An amusement park!" He leaned forward and pointed, as if we didn't see it.
I groaned. Both Phil and I had hoped Adrian would've been asleep to miss it.
"Can we go?" Adrian asked. "Please please please!"
"No." I said firmly.
"Please! Please please, I'm not gonna stop until you say yes, please please pl-"
"Okay!" Phil hollered. "We'll go on one ride!" Adrian leaned back in the seat, crossing his arms in satisfaction.
I sighed. "You're a bad parent." I muttered to Phil.
He breathed a laugh. "I'm the dad that everyone loves."
"Sure. One ride, Phil, you promise?" I asked.
"Uh huh." He replied, pulling into the parking lot. Adrian was the first out of the car, and he would've ran right into the park if I hadn't called for him.
"You a big fan of roller coasters?" Phil asked once we were all together.
Absolutely not. "Yeah."
"Great!" He smiled, stuffing his hand in his front pockets.
