This is something that has pissed me off a shitload since I fucking started writing on Wattpad but I thought I was just being petty af

So I just googled how to fix it but turns out that (1) it can't be fixed and (2) I ain't the only one struggling with it

So basically, I hate the Wattpad quotation marks.

They are basically two straight lines "

And they're ugly AF

Now, listen to me. Sometimes, some people have the curly quotation marks. And, once in a while even I've been lucky to get the curly ones, but I don't know how? Like do they just show up randomly? Does Santa just bless you with them when you've been good or? What's the secret?

If you don't know what I mean by the curly ones, just look at the comma: ,

And so the speech marks equivalent look sort of like that.

Ahhh, so you think I'm just being petty af ey?

What if I told you that these " are the wrong quotation marks to use for speech anyway?

Straight marks are generally used in programming languages and often used to indicate measurement.*

BITCH we ain't measuring shit

Basically, the site that's supposed to promote good writing has basically made every single one of us authors fail at a simple motherfucking rule that we don't even have control over.

What, you still think I'm being petty af?

What if I told you that publishers and editors have rejected people's stories in the past because they use these damn straight quotation marks instead of the curly ones?

THAT'S RIGHT. NOT SO PETTY NOW EY

I told you, I've been doing my research. I knew my instinct was correct.

And I'm not the only one with this problem. Someone raised this issue on Wattpad Community Help:

"We need to have the correct quotation marks in our stories. No mater what I try I can't get the marks to change to the curly ones in here, as the wattpad editor keeps changing them back to the straight ones."**

And I completely agree.

These penis drops " ' that we have no choice but to use as quotation marks look shady as hell and like you've seen, they aren't even the right ones for speech.

They look like unprofessional little shits and they don't even fit in with any of the damn fonts

I've changed my font like seven times and they still look like little penis shits

Wattpad let us rectify this pls.
