"Kabi & Brother! Come see this tourist attraction!" - my mum screams.

*brother and I run*

"Look, there's a fly."

I fucking hate when writers start becoming needy af and start demanding so much shit from their readers

Some of them always be like "PLEASE leave a HELPFUL COMMENT. It doesn't help when you say 'amazing!' Or 'good chapter!' I want HONEST FEEDBACK that is 5+ lines."

Bitch 5+ lines? Ain't nobody got time for that??

Now, I'm writing this from the point of view from the readers. Because I obviously know how annoying it is to be a writer and find that the only comments you get are airheaded. But over time, I think that I've realized that it's not that big of a deal.

You see, you can tell whether a reader is enjoying the book anyway. There's no need to coax them into giving you a detailed analysis of your chapter dude, this ain't History class

I fucking hated history in Year10/11 bruh

Like I mean, if you're a writer and you get comments like

"😱😱😱😱😱😱"

"omg"

"dead rn"

"bruh wtf is happening"

(quotes from my secret porno book)

Then duh your readers are basically saying yassss m8 this is a good book

But if you see comments like

"So bad"

"🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍"

Then you know your career over

But like y'all writers gotta stop being so needy

As a reader, it's not the funnest thing having to comment in the middle of reading something interesting

It's like pausing a movie to go do homework ew wth

And writers need to understand that not every single reader is going to be the best at giving feedback or giving criticism.

Not everyone is as pedantic, or as experienced, or meticulous to know what exactly to point out. Not everyone's a critic, and that's okay. Sometimes you need to be content with what you get.

Most of the time readers are just reading to enjoy the damn story

Did you hear that?

ENJOYMENT

So writers y'all need to get that stick out your arse and appreciate every single comment, even though they're seemingly meaningless af

Because let's be honest, only like 5% of the people who read actually comment so props to those of you who actually do take a moment to say something

But then again, I do recognize the frustration writers can feels when the only time your readers comment is when they're fighting over dots jks

*shots fired pew pew*

Like guys do u remember how I begged for y'all to stop in my first few chapters of WWDMC loooool good times good times

Btw guys WWDMC is ranked #335 on Random, yay! Finally have a ranking lol

This rant isn't to be taken seriously at all. It's super convoluted I know, but I'm just saying that sometimes writers need to chill in their A/N.

I've seen a lot of them go overboard pestering and even getting mad at their readers because their comments are not being detailed enough.

Rather, their comments are not good enough.

Writers like that are such a turn-off for me.

You wanna know what's a turn-on?

People who comment in the first place. Ya.
