I love reading books, you know.
On Wattpad, you have the pleasure of being able to scroll through the chapter titles, and sometimes I just like doing that even though I haven't reached the later parts of the book.
And so as you can imagine, so many books have been ruined for me because the author reveals too fucking much in the titles of their chapter that I'm just like ugh😪.
I mean, your hooked when you read the blurb/description. It's like,
"Toby Ashton is the star of his high school football time. Suddenly, his world changes when he falls in love with the simply-below-average good girl Wendy, however, it turns out she's not as good as everyone thought. Caught in a storm of bad choices, will he be able to get himself out of her grip?"
Side note: that's a fucking good description innit?
And you're like WHAT BAD CHOICES ARE WE TALKING ABOUT! WHY IS SHE BAD!!! I MUST READ!!!
But then slowly, slowly, as you scroll through the chapter titles, you get your answers:
Chapter 17:
The good girl is a drug dealer
Chapter 28:
Toby decides to become a drug dealer
Chapter 32:
Toby and girlfriend get shot
Chapter 35:
Separate Prisons
Chapter 37:
Toby's father bails him out while the girl gets more jail time because they catch her father who is the most wanted drug lord in America
Chapter 40:
Toby falls in love with Emilia
Chapter 41:
He dies as a result.
(Side note: that reminds me, I will update Toxic soon, I completely forgot whoops!)
Anywho, you see my point? The chapter titles reveal so fucking much about the plot itself that I don't even bother reading it because it's no fun anymore
*sulks in corner*
Try and be a bit (or a lot) more elusive when it comes to naming your titles, should you choose to actually name them. It goes a long way, son.
