"Let's play a prank on Mark, y/n!" Your friend suggested, being her normal, joke-loving self.

"What kinda prank?" You were honestly intrigued. You hadn't gotten Mark back for dumping ice all over you awhile back, so you decided that now was as good of time as any.

"Hmm.. what would freak him out the most?"

"Well, probably," you thought for a minute, tapping your chin a little, "probably, probably, probably my death or us breaking up."

"Your death is perfect!" She made the cliché villain move with her fingers, glancing off to the side and laughing maniacally.

"Alright. What's your plan?" Even you were a little surprised at your willingness to go through with faking your death, but hey, it was all in good fun, right?

Discussing the plan, you both decided to agree that the cause of death would be drowning. Doing your "secret handshake" – basically just making a random animal with your hand and calling it secret.

With that, you said your goodbyes and went back home, considering you were at her house, and made sure Mark was busy doing something so he wouldn't notice you. Lucky for you, he'd been filming a VIVE video, giving you the perfect opportunity to get everything set up correctly.

To do the said setting up, you had to make it look like you fell in after tripping on something, and you weren't quite able to resurface in time. Looking around, knowing you were under a time constraint, you kicked a wooden board you'd found out, tilting it a little, then splashed water on the sides of the deep end of the pool.

The scene was finally set up, so, to add to the hilarity that would soon ensue, you went into the kitchen and pulled out two cameras Mark had kept around for vlogging and backup purposes. Going back outside, you quickly set them up, then gave a thumbs up to make sure they were recording.

You would add in a clip of you explaining what you were doing later, considering not much time was left until he came downstairs to get a drink of water. Letting out a breath, you felt excitement pool in your stomach, Rubbing your hands together, you made sure your attire looked good enough to persuade Mark that your heavy clothes were what weighed you down in the ten foot deep water.

Taking off your sneakers, you went back in the house and set them down by the door, hearing him end out his video and open his door. Rushing outside, you tried to just jump in the water, but actually tripped on the wood you'd set out, which caused a loud scream to erupt from your lungs.

You congratulated yourself for that when you fell in the water, making sure to stay down for a second and cause ripples. You then let your body splay out and just as you were about to reach the top, you felt hands on your stomach and heard Mark calling your name.

You did your best to stay in character as he hoisted you up and out of the pool. He was breathing hard, trying to get you to respond.

"Cmon, y/n. Cmon, wake up. Cmon." He kept pushing on your chest, almost knocking the wind out of you. But, you managed to stay still and to keep the corners of your mouth from twitching up into a smirk. His voice was cracking and he sounded like he was crying, trying to get you to wake up.

Just as you felt his head on your chest and his body tremble, you chuckled a small bit. You knew he felt the quake of your chest, so when you opened your eyes, you were greeted with big, hopeful brown irises looking down at you like a deer in the headlights.

"You're okay," he breathed, resting his head against your stomach. You started laughing a little harder, causing him to look up at you with a confused look in his eyes. "What's so funny?"

"You."

"Why am I funny?"

"'Cause you fell for it."

"Fell for wha– goddammit!" About that time, he took notice to the cameras around the deck area, then glared at you.

"See?"

"No, I don't see. How is you dying funny?"

"Well, it isn't but, this is only revenge."

"For what!?

"The water you spilled on me."

"That doesn't fucking match at all, y/n! Drenching you in water and you almost killing me 'cause I thought I lost you isn't the same thing!"

He stood up and hugged, walking back into the house. You ran and grabbed a camera, going in after him. He was standing at the kitchen counter, his back tensed and his head low. You set the camera down on the counter and wrapped your arms around his waist, kissing his upper spine.

He sighed and shook his head, turning around and looking at you. "Don't do that to me, please? It makes me sick to the stomach at the thought of losing you."

"I won't do it again. But just know, that's payback." You kissed his lips, cupping his face with the most sincere smile you could muster on your own.

"Fuck your payback," he muttered gruffly, holding you a little closer. Then, you picked up the camera and held it where you could see both you and Mark.

"Well alright, that was my horrible prank. So, anyway, thanks for watchin' lovelies. We'll see you in the next video guys. Buh-bye!"
