Rain, rain, come to play

I breathe,
slow and deep,
inhale for five seconds,
hold for two,
then exhale for four.

Suki and Mother are in the kitchen,
having walked past me,
when we came back from school.

I relish in the peace.
In the smell of
fresh rain
wafting through the living room's
open window.

Father's gone.
Not for good,
but gone all the same.

"Harmony, don't bother taking
your shoes off.
We're going shopping."
