Chapter 36- Magic Lesson

Eve closed her eyes. They drove farther up north. It was now night time. Everyone was half asleep. Eve slowly fell asleep too. And as like most times, she started to dream.
"Eve wake up" Mr. Adam shook her
"Five more minutes Hula" she groaned
Sir Trent threw some water on her. Eve instantly sat up. "Huh"
"Good morning sunshine" he grinned
Eve looked around. The three were in a lab. It was a mess. Papers were in multiple stacks, computers turned off and on, coffee cups were half empty, and the walls appeared to have writing on them.
Eve looked at Sir Trent. He hadn't changed unlike Mr. Adam. Her used to be teacher had extreme bags under his eyes, his clothes had been stained and not washed. Has he been doing research.
"Trent has been keeping me informed on your trip" He sat down
Eve widened her eyes. "You mean I could have talked to you"
"Saguaro transportation takes a whole lot of energy. And long distances give me headaches" Sir Trent explained
"How am I here then" She asked
"Dream portals. They are so easy to open when you have an extraordinary amount of magic in you" Mr. Adam responded. "But the reason I brought you here"
He rolled his chair to his desk. Turning off the room lights, it revealed the white writing like in his classroom. So much research, so little time. Eve smiled at Mr. Adam's excellence.
"I think I figured out why my powers didn't work on them" he pointed at the back wall. "Not only is it Neutral magic, but it's center point deflective"
"Huh" Eve scratched her head
Sir Trent smirked. "I still don't get why the rest of the world hasn't reached the point of teaching magic"
"Neutral magic means it can be used for good and bad, most of the time both. Central point deflective means the magic is split and is attracted to a certain center piece, or your necklace. So when they try to use it against you. You absorb it. If anyone else tries to use magic to attack them, it won't work. Amazing isn't it" he's inner nerd shown with gleaming pride
"But the people that are using the magic are artificially made. Like Ivy" Eve held up the necklace with a new green piece
"Yes I know. And it still puzzles me" He scratched his head
"Maybe if you still had Piper, we would know" Sir Trent growled
Mr. Adam got up. "That wasn't my fault"
"Oh really" Sir Trent got up too
Eve shook her head. "Guys calm down. It's ok"
"The only other thing is Miss Phoenix disappeared again so I'm told. If she keeps leaving like this, it will raise my suspicions"
"She's probably looking for us. I doubt she'll even get a hunch" Eve laughed
"Time to go back Saguaro" Sir Trent pointed out
"Oh how" Eve asked
"Dream portals are so very easy yet complicated. I'll have to send you through another one. Hopefully it will jolt you awake" Mr. Adam answered
"See you Eve" Sir Trent smiled
She blushed and looked away.
"Good luck" Mr. Adam added sweetly. The confidence lifted her spirit. She was in a cave again. It was dark, but she could hear the whimpering of her sister. Then footsteps, Eve sat quietly.
"Ugh I hate it when you leave so soon" Piper's high voice came
Then a voice that Eve new, but couldn't tell who it was. "You know I can't stay Piper. Master would get mad, and if they noticed I was gone"
"Oh poo! I don't get why I could have been the spy" she whined
Eve gasped quietly. The spy! Who is it? I can't see.
"I had too. You know Miss Phoenix would have recognized you" the spy told her
Piper sighed "I know. Fair well then"
"Bye" the spy laughed
They spy was gone. Piper sighed. "Long live Loper"

  Eve bolted up in the truck. Sir Trent was sleeping next to her. She looked up at the sky full of stars.
  "You still can't sleep" Matt's voice came out of no where
  "You already know" she smiled. He sat next to her gazing up at the stars.
   "You know that are planet is so much smaller than others"
  "Yeah I learned that in science" Eve recalled the girls laughing at her
  "But we have so much going on. It makes us seem bigger" he said
  Eve giggled. "Yeah right" They sat there in silence
  "Eve you know that you are beautiful right" he suddenly said
Eve blushed intensely. "What"
"Too beautiful for Sir Trent to not love you. He probably just was stunned that a girl like you, liked him" he simply stated it
Eve smiled. "You sure"
He nodded. "Positive"
She leaned against him and felt the warm welcoming feeling. He turned his head to look at her. She looked at him. And for a small moment they stared into each others eyes.
"Matt" Eve whispered
"Yes princess" he said like the night of the dance
"Look" she pointed out into the darkness of the night. "And listen"
They could hear a snicker. Then an explosion. Another laugh broke the night silence. The smell of burning fire poked Eve's nose.
"It's another one alright" Matt whispered
David, who was driving, pulled the truck over. He walked out with his weapon. "Let's deal with it"
"Wake up guys" Casper tapped Raven and Bailee. Hula barked loudly. This caused them to wake up. Hula wagged her tail in success.
"Eve remember what Mr. Adam said" Sir Trent nudged Eve. She nodded her head.
They walked over to the noise. They stopped to listen.
"Zephyr chill" the blue cloak pointed out
  An evil snicker came from the grey cloak. "Calm down. Ha! Have you met me! I get a whole building to myself. Like I'm not going to blow it down"
  "Neptune this is very amusing to me" The red cloak said
  "Scarlet I get you like this stuff, but I'm getting tired of this" Neptune complained
  "What do you mean? We have this job from master" she rejected
  "I mean like a real job, that isn't pointless" he shot back
  "Destroying stuff isn't pointless" Zephyr disagreed. "What is it with you and Ivy"
  "Zephyr, me and Ivy just wanted a special job from master. That's all"
  Scarlett shook her head. "This is good enough. Or would you rather be a piece of jewelry trapped in a necklace with a neglecting owner, like Ivy"
  Neptune turned quiet.
  Zephyr stopped for a second. "Don't bring Ivy into this. She hasn't come back and Neptune still believes she's out there"
  "I know she is! She is strong! She can't just be captured by that human!" Neptune protested
  "Oh face the facts Neptune! She's gone, trapped, sealed away. She's not coming back" Scarlet yelled
  Zephyr coughed. Neptune shook his head in disagreement. Eve frowned. I'm not a bad guy. Am I?
