Lucas's POV
~~Earlier in the day.~~
I heard Xander's voice waking me up, I just threw a pillow at him in response, he then poured ice cold water on me to wake me up for good. "What the hell dude?!" I shouted at him "Wanna go to the mall?" he asked 'The mall? Why the hell would he want to go to the mall?' I thought. I got up and went in the bathroom, I took a bath because I smell like crap, eventually that happened
then I wore my clothes. Then we walked to the mall.
~~The mall.~~
I wore my headphones since this place was noisy as hell. Then I saw her with two people, "Yo Ruby!" Xander said, I just walked off to the bookstore. When I got there, I grabbed a book that interests me the most and sat on the floor, reading it.
~~Sometime later.~~
I fell asleep with the book on top of my face, I hear people talking then someone poked me. I opened my eyes seeing Ruby. "Lucas why are you sleeping here?" she asked, I just scoffed 'Why does she care anyways.' I got up and went to the line to pay for the book, I payed for the book then Xander spoke "Lucas why did you scoff when she was asking you? You know that she cares right?" he said. 'Questions, questions these people ask a lot of them... And I hate it.'
"I know that, but why do you care anyways?" I asked facing Ruby.
"I'm not a mean person to not ask that." she said and pouted
"I'm going home." I said and walked off. "Cya guys!" Xander said to them.
"Why did you become like that?" he asked in a stern voice "I hate questions. Plus she's annoying."
"That's mean ya know... She's not the type of person to be mad at a person at a small reason. So she's calm about that."

Ruby's POV
When Lucas and Xander left, Ella left me with my brother too T^T 'Why did you leave me Ella?!' "Hey, do you like one of those guys?" Yuu asked me. "Uhhh....WAIT WHY ARE YOU ASKING THAT?!" I screamed at him, then people laid their eyes on me. I dragged him home.
~~A few minutes before their house.~~
"Why do you ask that Onii ~ chan?" I asked looking down, he pats my head "So that when I'm not there to protect you they will..." he said, 'What are you talking about?' "Are you going to leave me like what mom and dad did?" I asked holding back my tears. He hugged me "Of course not, I'm not going to... If that happens you will be lonely." my tears start to fall.
I sobbed
"I'm just a weak person... I don't even have magic to protect others from danger..."
"That's not true..." he said "Soon enough you will find it.."
"What do you---" I suddenly felt weak "Sleep now." it's the last thing I heard then...
Everything blurred out.
