Few weeks had passed since the loss of your father and you were gradually getting better. However, you had to confess it was thanks to a handsome doctor you had met that unfortunate day. His piercing blue eyes had hypnotised you in a warm embrace and the way he smiles made your heart flutter into your chest. You were falling in love. But,... there is always a but, you didn't really know if he felt the same. Sure you talked for hours together, texted a lot and late at night but you were unsure. You were going to the hospital where he works and passed through the door. You saw Christine next to the counter and you waved at her. Immediately, she spotted you and took you in a hug. You had become great friends together even if you knew that Stephen and Christine had been together for a while.

"Hello Y/N! How are you?"

You smiled warmly at her.

" I'm fine and you?"

" Exhausted but fine. You're here for Stephen, aren't you?" She smirked at you and a hint of red covered your cheeks. You nodded.

" He is in operation right now but it will soon be over. Why don't you wait for him in the corridor? "

" Sure."

You walked towards the direction she had given you and sat on a chair. You watched the nurses and patients who were crossing your vision. You realised how hard Stephen's work was and your heart aches for it. All this pain, combined with the hope was reviving some memories in your head and you shook your head. You were not going to cry again. Thanks to Stephen, and his marvellous work he had done on his patients with the infamous stability of his hands, he had healed you from the invisible wound the loss of your father burdened in your heart. In a sense, the doctor had reconciled you with hospitals as not being a house of death but a house of hope and healing. You were snapped out of your thoughts when you felt a gentle squeeze on your arm. You raised your head up to see Stephen in his light blue outfit and the white mask he slowly removed. A huge smile warmed your face.

" Stephen! " You hugged him tightly and he hesitantly returned the hug. He let you go after a moment and looked at you with his sparkling blue eyes.

" Hi Y/N! Let me change and we can go take a bite somewhere, is that okay with you?"

You blushed at what he meant and you stuttered " Like a d-date?"

He scratched the back of his head, a blush of red covering his cheekbones.

" Yes".

You smiled at him.

" I would love to Stephen."

He froze at your answer and a bright smile spread out on his face. You walked together until you reached both the lockers and he said:

"Could you wait for me at the exit of the hospital, please? I'll be back in a bit."

You nodded and with a wave of boldness invading your veins, you kissed his cheek. Then you quickly turned on your heels and reached the exit. You didn't see the expression of pure joy spreading on the face of the doctor who looked at you walk away.

You were waiting for ten minutes on the threshold of the hospital when a hoarse voice whispered in your ear " Are you ready?" You jumped out of fear and punched his nose like your dad had taught you. However, you realised as you turned you had punched Stephen! He held his bleeding nose mumbling unintelligible words under his breath. You immediately started to apologise to him, and you asked him:

" Oh God! I'm so sorry! Let's go back to the hospital!"

You took his arm and started to walk back to the building, Stephen trying to stop the bleeding with his hands. You quickly put out a handkerchief from your bag and handed to him. He took it and the white tissue coloured in the crimson shade of blood. You reached rapidly the hospital and Christine saw the both of you. She immediately rushed to your side and you explained, quite embarrassed what happened. She looked at you, puzzled:

" You punched him? she asked.

You nodded, looking at your feet while Stephen was taking some things to stop the bleeding. Then Christine burst out of laughing and you watched her in confusion " I just punched her friend and she laughed?" you thought, completely puzzled by her behaviour. By the time she finished, Stephen had stopped the bleeding and was going better. He removed the last trace of blood on his face and said:

" You have quite a punch, Y/N. "

You looked at him, diving in the blueness of his eyes. There was no anger or bitterness sparkling in it, just a warm spark which sends shivers down your spine. Butterflies erupted in your belly and you quickly turned your head to avoid his instance gaze.

" My dad taught me self-defence"

" Well, I won't surprise you like that ever again, Y/N. Now let's go."

You looked at him in disbelief.

" You still want to go on a date with me? I just punched your nose, you should rest."

He shook his finger in front of you and Christine discreetly went back to work.

" I'm the doctor here and I know I can go on a date with you. Now come on, we don't have all day."

You blinked at him, trying to understand that he wasn't rejecting you. A huge smile appeared on your face.

" Okay, let's go. And sorry again for that".

He smiled you back and intertwined your fingers with his, leading out of the hospital ( for good this time XD).
