Queen Of The Ashes Part Two

Devastated.

An endless storm tearing apart themagician's heart as his world turned to ashes, a last smile findingyour lips despite the snap. He knew you knew what had happened, hencethe smile but the pain ignited like a spark, and for once, herealised that they had lost against Thanos.

Five Years Later

Yet, the war wasn't over.

Hope still lingered in the brokenhearts of the Avengers, looking for the tiniest glimpses of clues tofind Thanos and get back the infinity stones. Stephen was a wreck,drinking his pain away while his hands shook constantly. Wong lookedat his friend slowly destroying himself, and he sighed lowly, wishingyou were here to keep Stephen in line. Did his hope die the moment you turned into ashes?

Looking from the new Avengers compoundwindow, Stephen walked down to the lab, his glossy eyes pleading Tonyto tell him that there was a chance to bring everyone back.

« We did it. » the geniusstated, while Clint slowly trotted to his ringing phone, the familiarname of his wife appearing on his screen.

His heart rate sped up as well asStephen's, until a huge explosion destroyed the building, tearing itdown, engulfing its occupants into the ground. The Cloak protectedthe magician, holding the rocks above the human with all its strengthand Stephen quickly conjured a spell to get everyone out.

That's when the battle started.

Thor firing up or rather ' thunderingup', ready to fight Thanos with his pride two hammers, followed byCaptain America and Iron Man. The fight of their lives had come andStephen joined, standing by their sides while the trinity fought withall their might. They fought for what they had lost, for what theyhad sacrificed. They fought for their world and their lovedones.

Stephen fought for you. Only for you.

Blazing spells appearing out of nowhere, illusions fading one by one, whips of fiery power glowing in the dark and the cloak, faithfully by his sides, flying him away in times of need.

His spells  started growing stronger each timeThanos blocked them and as he was thrown away like a rag down by onerough punch, the alien army gathering behind Thanos, only one Avengerstood.

Steve, with a broken shield, yet withan unstoppable hope and might, the soldier stood against an entirearmy, facing this dark horizon.

However, as Stephen thought the end hadcome, a familiar voice echoed behind him. Oh, how he had craved to hear your voice again, plead to see your face and have the chance to see you again. 

« You never give up, do you,Stephen ? » you said, offering him a hand.

A dazzling sight made his heart skip abeat, his arms leaping to embrace you as he held you tightly againsthim, muttering your name like a prayer. You cupped his face, makinghim look at you.

« I told you a snap wouldn'tstop me from staying away from you. I'll always come back to you. »

He desperately kissed you, the fiveyears of loneliness conveying in the kiss as you pressed your lipsagainst his.

Soon, you stepped away and stated,taking his hand in yours :

« Let's save the world, shallwe? »

He chuckled, a new spark shiningbrightly in his blue eyes.

« Oh, with pleasure, Y/N.  Let's put Thanos down to ash.»
