A/N: Hello my dear readers!

I hope you're all okay. I'm sorry I've been inactive lately, you know how the end of the school year can be a rush, especially when you're a teacher.

So here is a little one-shot requested from one of you, I'm sorry I don't remember who. I added some background to the request.

I hope you will like it.

Be patient with me for your requests, my dears. Love you all!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You were gone.

In front of him.

Shattering his heart into ashes.

The last fade of a smile lightening your face as the snap killed fifty percent of the population of the planet. It turned half of the human race into ashes, including you.

Gone!

Stephen's eyes watered as a dying scream left his lips, desperately trying to catch your form, but you had faded away, never touching the ground.

Forever.

He couldn't believe what had happened. Not this vision.

« No, it can not be. »hethought., his mind racing to bring you back. He launched at Thanosto grab the Time Stone but the alien grabbed him by his throat, raising him in the air. The Cloak immediately rushed to his side, supporting his master from a lack of oxygen, but it knew.

Your last words echoed in his mind as the hard gaze of the titan locked with his.

« We can do it, we can stop it, Stephen. » you had stuttered, getting up even after the alien had beaten you up. You had turned to look at him, the sun dazzling your pretty face, and the wind stroking your hair in a last embrace, while the titan took the stone from him.

« Never give up. »

And you had surged forward, the most powerful spell you had ever known emerging in your hands, but it was too late.

The dreadful call of Death echoed in the fight, a feeling of eeriness flickering while your last attack landed on him, burning half of his purple face. You barely had the time to see the sorcerer coming at your sides before your life ended.

Thanos looked at Stephen, his clothes shredded and his face covered in angry tears, buffs of power emanating from his hands. His gaze remained impervious until even he couldn't take it anymore.

« You shall live to tell the tale » he cautiously stated, turning his back to the heartbroken magician.

And he cried he shed away his heart until nothing remained.

*

« Y/N! » Stephen screamed, his eyes wide opened in fear as he frantically looked for your form. Not finding you in your shared bed, he rushed out of the room, screaming your name like a mad man. It was all a dream, but how had it been so vivid, so dramatically alive.

« No, no, no,no it can't be true. » He repeated to himself, taking his head in his hands as he knelt in the living room.

Raising your head from your book, you saw a shattering sight of Stephen. His hair was dishevelled, his eyes screaming in fear and his breath ragged. You immediately went to his side, wrapping your hands around him and whispered his name.

« Stephen, I'm here. »

As soon as he heard your voice, he gripped your shoulders and put you in his laps, engulfing you in a hug before you had the time to say anything. He buried his nose into your neck, gripping you tightly, afraid to let you go and you murmured comforting words in his ears. You knew that stroking his hair was his weakness, so you gently put your fingers in his strands and calmed him down. You stayed in this position for long minutes and as time flew, his panic state started to become back to normal. His embrace became less tight, his breath slowed down to a regular rhythm and his sobs gradually stopped. You had never seen the sorcerer cried in front of you, his ego stopping him from showing you this side of him but the nightmare had awakened his worst fears.

And so you stayed by his side, until the sun rose on your forms, illuminating the strength of your love as he told you the nightmare but also one of the visions of the future from the Time Stone. It had shaken him so hard, his dreams were filled by it.

« I can't lose you, Y/N. »he said, holding you strongly, while you kissed his forehead.

« You won't. A little snap won't stop me from leaving you. Ever. »

It was just words, but it comforted him that night.

....

Until it happened.

You were gone. The queen of his heart had turned into ashes.
