He had found it.

Shining in the beautiful azure glowing shade of blue, encompassing the dark prison from a touch of mysticism was the sceptre of manipulation or in other words the chrysalis of the Mind Stone.

So much power in this ancient weapon, yet so dreadfully fatal, if in contact with human flesh. Tremendous powers require carefulness, and all the God of Tricks has was a cunning masterplan: take back what is rightfully his. Except for this time, he intended to be deadlier than the first time, and not be caught off guard by a couple of superheroes.

With the power to control everyone, to force the victim to do his will no matter how much you wanted to break free from this invisible cage, he had an opportunity to correct the past.

Learn from your mistake they say, was something he had heard so many times, it was just rubbish stuff now.

Loki's sceptre.

Nestled in the palm of its right master, the weapon was right in front of your frightened eyes. You had tried to stop the dark-haired god from taking the sceptre back, but you had been too late.

Too late to stop the inevitable.

You were a powerful Avenger, born with extraordinary abilities and trained by the Ancient One herself but now as you watched in horror the tip of the spear glow a navy blue shade, you knew you were doomed. Nothing will ever stop you from doing what he commands as the Mind Stone controlled your every move.

You couldn't stop your body from punching Stark out of his suit, letting him swan fall from the Stark Tower after shredding the armour in pieces.

Neither using your powers to send the two assassins in the streets of New York while the Chitauris attacked them.

Or hurt the hands of the love of your life, reviving the memory of the loss of his hands, as well as the pain it bore with. Doctor Strange had come at the demand of Stark, sensing a danger coming right up.

One by one, every Avenger fell under your power, Loki proudly, making them kneel in front of him while he gloated his glorious at the Midgardian people.

« You will all kneel before me, your rightful king! »

The god was beaming with joy, while his brother laid broken next to him, unable to reach Mjolnir, his strength had been swept away as he relived his darkest memories, again and again, thanks to a spell you had learnt ages ago.

You heard the pleas of your friends, begging you to stop the fight. The Avengers were disassembled, dismantled, but as they kept gettingup, you could give them the credit to never give up. Their hope, their bravery was even more painful for you as you were forced to hurt them again and again, Loki's binding forcing you to do his will. Your muscles were sore, your breath short and heavy, your body on the eve of collapsing but the power of the Mind Stone compelled you to keep going.

« Y/N, please, don't do this. » pleaded Steve as he got up again.

Another punch sent him in the air as he collided roughly on the floor. Even Hulk was stopped by your powers when he tried to take you out. You blocked him with your powers and sent him in the Mirror Dimension where he would be unable to do any harm for a while.

Suddenly, a voice snapped you out of the hazy spell, a spark of light breaking for a second the control of your body. Your free will was at your reach for a fragment of time until Loki 's deep voice reminded you the orders you had to fulfil.

« Y/N. Kill them. »

Two words. Two dreadful words which could change the course of history. A fight between your love for the Avengers and the command of the Mindstone emerged in your conscious. Your fist stopped in mid-air in front of Steve's bloody face, trembling as you fought with all your might the enchantment.

« I.... will.....not.... kill.... them! »

Loki smirked, his blue eyes slightly widening at your brave gesture. You were going through an immense wave of pain but it was worth it. If it was the price to pay to not hurt your friends, you were definitely willing to bear the pain.

« You can not fight the power of a god, Y/N. You will do as I say. Destroy them! »

Steve 's storming blue eyes locked with yours, glimpsing the reminiscence of your original eyes colour for trembling seconds as the fist collided with his face again.

« Stephen », he managed to say, breathing heavily on the floor, « bring her back to us. »

Another punch brought him down while tears streaked down your cheeks. You were mind controlled, aware of your moves but unable to do anything against it.

« Y/N, love. »

How much you loved these tender words from Stephen's mouth, how much you cherished them in the morning when you woke up in his arms, how could such simple words tear your heart apart? You couldn't bear to hurt the love of your life. He had broken free of the compelling spell, similar to Thor and forcing him to relieve the worst moment of his life.

He staggered towards you, his hands curled up in his palms as he walked towards you. You tried to stop yourself but you only cried harder when your bloody fist collided with the sorcerer's cheek.

« This is not you, love. You would never hurt me. »

He got up again, the Cloak flowing to you and holding your hands in its silky hems.

« Y/N, please come back to us. Come back to me. »

Each time he spoke, his voice snaked in and out the mind control, freeing you and giving you enough strength.

As Loki's orders overwhelmed your body to move at his will, another strength flew out your body: the power of love, contrasting with the god command.

The Cloak lost its grip on your hand, your hand immediately heading to punch the magician until at the last second, it stopped in mid-air, inches from his face. Your hand relaxed and gently stroke Stephen's face, under his bewildered eyes while he asked genuinely ;

« Y/ N? »

Your eyes kept switching from the blurry blue colour to your original colour, showing you were fighting the power of the Mind Stone.

Loki spun around when he heard Stephen gasped at your behaviour.

« Pet put an end to his misery. End him. Now. »

You winced at his commands, as you seemed to have a burden heaving harder and harder on your shoulder like Atlas from Greek mythology.

« I know you can fight this, Y/N. You are stronger than you think. » Stephen encouraged you, a small smile of hope tugging at his lips.

Clenching your fists, you screamed out at the top of your lungs, fighting off the binding spell, a force field erupting from your body.

Then you fell back on your knees, breathing heavily, but happy. You were now in your own master, free from any spell. Slowly you got up, glancing briefly at the fallen Avengers who smiled softly at you, and then you stated darkly to Loki :

« You won't control anyone anymore, God of Lies. »

Next, you charged him, as well as with the Avengers while the puny God barely had time to register his plan had failed and the Avengers were back.

Free, powerful and unstoppable. They were the Avengers, Defenders of the Earth., Guardians of the Human race, Revengers of Injustice.

Until Thanos came.....

A/N: So what did you think? Was it accurate enough?
