"Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day
Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day"

Venus and I were singing – yelling the song during our ride. We had entered the state of Pennsylvania and we were heading to a small town named Willoughby. The song was coming to its end and my throat was aching like hell. But, I didn't regret it. I haven't had such a good time for a long time.

"We should do this more often." Venus said laughing.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"When will we arrive?" She moaned after a while.

"Be patient, Venus..." I scolded her with a large smile forming on my face.

"Couldn't you be obsessed with another place? Hollywood, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, Rome, Madrid... It had to be Will-something?"

"You know I can't control it." I reminded her.

"We are unlucky, I guess." She replied shrugging.

The song had come to its end and the presenter was talking. I didn't pay much attention, but for a single phrase of his.

"... dedicated to Christine from Elliot with love beyond this small universe.... Enjoy..."

And then a soft and so familiar melody echoed in the car. A melody that brought so many painful memories from the past. A melody that reminded me the perfection I had lost forever.

"Give me love like her,
'Cause lately I've been waking up alone,
Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt,
Told you I'd let them go"

I hit the brakes. "What happened?!?!?!?!" Venus screamed scared to death. I just stared blankly in front of me. The song went on not knowing how painful it was for me to hear its beautiful melody. "Cassandra?" Venus said reluctantly.

"The song..." I mumbled.

"What about the song?" She asked not understanding. I remained silent. After a while, I turned to look at her. My sight was blurred because of the tears. She understood. "Come here." She said opening her arms for me. I gratefully leaned against her chest and let my tears fall. "Cry... Take it out..." She whispered as I cried silently. I had lost track of time. It was just me and my grief. Eventually, the tears dried out. "Come on, I'll drive." Venus said pushing me away gently.

"No, it's ok..." I tried to protest.

"I do not negotiate. Come on!" She insisted. The truth is I didn't feel very well. So, we changed seats and I let her drive. After what seemed like a century we saw the first houses of Willoughby. "Here we are." Venus announced.

"It is indeed a very small town." I spoke for the first time after my outburst.

"Not much social life. Nor night life, I may add." I laughed. "Do you feel better?" She asked.

"Yes. I'm sorry for my outburst."

"Don't worry about it. We all have our moments of weakness." I smiled as a response. "I'm starving. Do you want to grab something to eat?" She said after a while.

"I'm hungry too. Why don't you go fill the car up, while I get us something to eat?"

"Deal. I want waffles."
