the egg clue second task.

harrys p.o.v

"you told me you;d figured that egg out weeks ago, the task is in two days." hermonie said to me "really i had no idea? and i suppose viktors already worked it out." i said. "i wouldnt know.. we dont talk that much, viktors more of a phyiscal being" hermonie said. i smiled and chuckled. "i mean hes not luquious" hermonie explained "mmmhm" i said nodding my head and smiling. ": Mostly, he watches me study. It's a bit annoying, actually. You are trying to figure this egg out, aren't you?" hermonie said. "whats that supposed to mean" harry said. "It just means these tasks are designed to test you, in the most brutal way; they're almost cruel. And um... I'm scared for you. You got by the dragons mostly on nerve. I'm not sure it's going to be enough this time. " hermonie said worriedly. "potter...potter!" i heard cedric say. oh great.. "cedric" i said still walking "how-how are you?" he asked "spectacular" i replied bluntly "i never really thanked you for that tip about the dragons. "thats fine im sure you wouldve done the same for me" i said not really believing it. "exactly! you know the prefects bathroom on the fiifth floor its not a bad place to take you egg and just mull things over." cedric said "does-" i started "yep i just told her" cedric said. i nodded my head and he walked away. i walked into the bath and looked at my egg. "im must be out of my mind" i said opening it. the screeching sound returned and i covered my ears in pain. "im out of my mind..." i said closing my eyes. "try putting it in the water... thats what the other boy did...cedric.." murtle said "murtle!" i said shocked "hi-ya harry, long time no see" she said and looked where she shouldnt be. i moved the bubbles towards me so she couldnt see anything " I was circling a blocked drain the other day, and could swear I saw a bit of Polyjuice potion. Not being a bad boy are you harry?" murtle asked "polyjuice potion? kicked the habbit. did you say put it in the water. "thats what they did, cedric diggory and dear katty." murtle said. i opened it under the water and it started to sing "come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground, an hour long you'll have to look, to recover what we took. "murtle are there any mermaids in black lake?" i asked "very good it took cedric a long time to riddle it out.. almost all the bubles were gone..." she said laughing and coming closer. "and kat" i said pushing bubles towards me again "got it in a click" murtle said resting her head on my shoulder. i scooted over arkwardly...

kats p.o.v 

we where in the libaray trying to help harry out for the next task "tell me again harry." hermonie said. it was a nightmare we couldnt find anything "come seek us were our voices sound" harry said dazely. "obviously black lake" hermonie said "an hour long you'll have to look" he said again "again obvious but potentionally problematic." hermonie said. "potentionally! hermonie when was the last time you held your breath for an hour!" harry exclaimed "kat what are you doing?" hermonie said turning to me. "you must have something?" hermonie said "i can breathe under water..so im good we just need to worry about harry" i said tiredly "you can?" ron said confusingly "comes with being and elemetous." i said warily. "its ok harry the four of us can figure it out" hermonie said slapping my over the head to wake me up "im up!" i said sitting up right looking through my book "im sorry to break up the skull session, but mcongal wants to see you. not you valentine, potter. just weasley and granger" moody said "but sir the second task is only hours!" hermonie protested "and im sure potter and valentine will need some rest, now off with ya! longbottom! help them put away their boks" moody said. neville came over and started talking about god knows what. i fell asleep on m book and just went into a deep...deep sleep. i woke up to find harry carring me up the stairs. i fake sleept so he wouldnt put me down..dont judge! he opened my dorms door and placed me down on the bed. "night love" he wispered and kissed my head. once he walked out the door and shut it i sighed happily. the next morning i woke up at 6:24am. weird hermonie didnt come back last night? i looked over at her bed and it was perfectly made like it was last night...i got up and got changed into my swimmers they were like the boys ones but my shirt was long sleved and stuck to my skin a bit and the shorts were shorter. i put my jumper and pants over with my coat. i dont know why but i was nervous with this one... i walked down with harry and was fidgeting with my hands "your nervous?" he asked "how did you know?" i asked. "you fidget when your nervous" harry said chuckling a bit "i dont even know why im nervous!" i exclaimed. "i mean look my hands are shaking!" i said showing him my shaky hands. he put his hands over mine "you'll be fine... you always are" harry said pecking me quickly. i stop shaking and worring. i nodded m head and we walked down to the next task "where ron and hermonie?" i asked. harry shrugged "he didnt come back last night "yer same with hermonie" i said looking around nervously "maybe thats why you nervous..hermonies not here" harry said. i nodded "yer tru...maybe" i said. i walked ahead to try find ginny and neville was talking to harry "good luck" pansy said hugging me "thanks" i said smiling "have you seen ginny or hermonie" i said looking around "we were just looking for them for you" liz said coming up to us with susan and meggs and kass "i dont know why but i feel a bit nervous.." i said "huh! katrina valentine! nervous! its just unheard of" susan said suprisingly "yer i know.." i said  shaking my head. "we'll be routing for you!" meggs said hugging me "thanks guys" i said as they walked away. the champions stood at the edge and waited for the canon "champions are aloud to use any kind of magic they know, i repeat any kind of magic" dumboldore said. score! dean passed me my wand "thanks" i said twirling it in my fingers i wasnt nervous anymore. i saw cedric galnce at me and then took a deep breath "remember your promise" dumboldore said. i sighed sadly. "yer, yer" i wispered waving my hand "kat..." dumboldore said "ok!" i shouted so he could hear. "Welcome to the second task. Last night something was stolen from each of our champions; a treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the Black Lake. In order to win,each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough, except for this: they will have but one hour to do so, and one hour only. After that, they will be on their own. No magic will save them. You may begin at the sound of the cannon..." dumboldore said. i got my wand ready. BOOM! the canon went. everyone dived in but i just jumped in. "ive lost something valubale help me find it" i said under water. my wand flashed me to a certain place. i saw ron, hermonie, ginny, a blonde girl and cho frozen with a ropeish thing keeping them down. cho must be cedrics... blonde must be fluers...ron must be harrys.... hermonie must be viktors because ginnys here so she must be mine. i did a spell to untie the rope on her ankle and swam up to the surface with her. when we got up there was a roar of cheers. "what happened" ginny said confused "i'll explain later." i said leading her to the steps. "thats a new record!" lee shouted over the amplifyer. "1 minute and 24 seconds!" dean said hugging me "what that quick?" i asked shocked. "the dragon was a new record to 2'23" moody said patting by back. dumboldore gave me and ginny a towel "well done kat." dumboldore said rubbing my head. i then was attacked by susan and everyone else. "dang that was fast" pansy said. "i know where hermonie is" i said smiling "shes down there with ron, cho and a blonde girl" i said. they all nodded understanding the lost thing. we waited what seemed like a short time..maybe because we were stil wet..anyway first up was cedric then viktor and because fluer didnt complete the task her person was still down there. i went up too cedric "did you see harry?" i asked worriedly "yer hes down there...but i dont know what hes doing" he said confused. i nodded and walked back to my friends. when maxine tapped my shoulder. i turned around and looked up. "yes?" i said "veela!" she said shaking me "im not! honest!" i replied. she stomped away angrily i saw ron and a little blonde girl come to the surface! where was harry! is he ok! is he alive! i started to panick. hermonie hit my head up a newspaper "calm down hes fine....hopefully" hermonie said a tad calmer than me. we helped ron up and then the little girl. "are you ok?" i asked. he nodded and he got givin a towel. i looked out towards the water hoping he'll pop out. "harry suddenly jumped out of the water and landed on the plateform with a thud. "harry!" i yelled hugging him "kat ow" he said "sorry" i said. "i thought what you did was very admirably" hermonie said. "omg your freezing!" i said wrapping my towel around him. "he needs another towel!" seamus shouted. "i finished last though" harry said still wincing in pain. "next to last fluer didnt get past the grindylows." i explained. i helped him up "are you ok?" i asked worriedly " im fine" harry said "are you sure?" i asked. he nodded "attention please the winner of this event is miss valentine who had a record breaking score, and since mr potter would have been placed second if it wasnt for his determination to save not only mr weasley but the others too. we have decided to give him second place." dumboldre said. karkaroff was angry everyone could tell. everyone cheered and all was happy. there was a roar from the lake...and it was a loud one. we all gasped and some screamed. i walked over to ginny who was sitting on the edge of the plateform and moved her to the back..back way back out of the way. i heard a scream and saw someone being dragged into the lake by a scale. it was hermonie! and the blonde..gabrelle! i didnt even think about it i just ran and dived in. before i dived i heard ron shout "someone grab kat before-" but i was under water before he could finish. i wish i was the fastest swimmer ever. i wacked my feet and i was zooming through the water i used the water to slip hermonie and gabrelle out and started zooming again. their gonna need to breathe so i stopped about half way and pulled up to the surface. "what the! ahhh! omg! ahhh!" they started panicking. i saw the testical thing stop and turn around. oh shizzel. i grabbed hermonie and gabrelles hand and zoomed to the ladder. "quickly" i said helping the little girl first. the ladder was long and there was a long way to go. the beast was coming faster and faster. they werent going to make it if i didnt do something. hermonie was a quarter way and gabrelle was half. hermonie looked at me "kat.dont" she said tears forming "your not gonna make it if i dont" i said stepping on the first step and starting to walk on the water ( another gift) i ran a little and just about as the monster reached the scales i did a very loud wistle "oi scaley! over here!" i shouted at it. it turned to face me and started coming for me. i was running like hell! i heard people yelling my name but i had to zone them out.i had a plan. i stopped and turn to face the beast. it roared and opened its mouth, it was gonna tr eat me? i used the water to lift it into the sky and froze it in place. it was frozen still and plopped down to the bottom of the lake. i heard cheers but i zoned them out. their was another roar. ugh! i another one! it was to close to where everyone else was! i ran and skidded this one was no gonna fall for the same trick. i used the air to lift the stands that  everyone was standing on and moved it to the grass but it was taking longer because their where more people so it was heavy. i had to use both hands but keep looking back and the beast. just as i landed them a testical wrapped around my leg and dargged me under water. i screamed as i felt its disgusting tentical around my body. eweewwwwwwww.i was not going to get eaten! not today! i slipped out ofits gripp and used the water to help my back up on top of it. the beast gave up on me and went for the people on the shore. i knew they wouldnt be able to move in time...it was either them or me... i slide in front and pointed my wand at it "flamous gasredala!" i yelled the first thing that came to my mind. flames emerged on the beasts body and even the water wasnt calming the flames. the beast backed up schreeching in serious pain. but before it died it lunged for us all. i put up a big wall of water and froze it so the beast couldnt get them...but me on the other hand. the beasts teeth grazed my shoulder and i screamed in pain. it wrapped its tentical around my body basically saying if im gonna die your coming down with me. i was dragged under water with the beast still on flames. it was dead thats for sure but anything else under here could eat me! i was struggling and squriming trying to break free. but i couldnt my strength gave in and i blacked out but not before seeing a figure come towards me.
