Why you had a crush on the Slytherin Prince, you did not know. What you did know, was you both held a complex relationship. You would both insult each other constantly, get into petty fights over nothing and give each other hate filled glares to one another from across the class rooms and halls. But despite all of that, you still had a massive crush on the blonde boy.

Ravenclaw and Slytherin were having Defence Against the Dark Arts together which meant you had to be in the same room as an infuriating Draco. You had all been partnered up, Slytherins against Ravenclaws, in a small friendly duel. Nothing that could seriously hurt anyone, but it was mainly to practice defensive spells.
You had initially been partnered with Draco's idiotic friend Goyle when Malfoy came strolling over to the two of you. "(Y/L/N)!" He called. "I'm not duelling some amateur. Me and you. Goyle, you go with Smith." He sauntered over, pointing at a fellow Ravenclaw girl he had been put with.
Goyle nodded and walked over to the wavy brown haired girl.

Draco smirked at you, swaggering his way over to stand in front of you. "Care to make this interesting?" You asked mirroring the same sly smirk he was wearing.
He looked at you intrigued. "Go on." He encouraged, wanting to know what you were implying.
Grabbing hold of your wand tightly in your wand hand, you spoke confidently "Let's make a bet." The smirk plastered across Malfoys face got wider. "If I win you have to do whatever I want, and if you win, well, that won't happen. But if it does, I'll do whatever you want. No exceptions." You challenged.
The Slytherin held out his hand and you took it, shaking it firmly. "You're on." He replied, cockily.

By the time you had finished discussing the bet, a few people had overheard the convocation and were now gathered around you both.
You stood in front of one another raising your wands and smirking menacingly.
Draco often wondered why you weren't in Slytherin, what with the continued fights and arguments you got into with ruder students. But then he saw you around your friends; sweet, clever and accepting.
You both put your wands to the side and walked away as the group around you grew larger, but still gave you space. You both turned around quickly throwing spells at one another and blocking the oncoming ones.

The duel went on for a good few minutes with your professor trying to get through the crowd of students. Draco was very impressive. He really knew what he was doing and made it hard for you to keep up with the spells. In the end, Draco missed you call out "Expelliarmus" as the boy was thrown backwards by the force of the charm.
The blonde Slytherin sat up from his heap on the floor and smiled weakly. "Well done (Y/L/N). You're a worthy opponent. I'll have you next time." He grinned, waltzing back over to you.
You smiled shyly, not looking at Draco's proud facade. He came and stood extremely close to you. So close in fact, the toes of your shoes were touching and you could feel his warm breath on your cheek. "So what do you want me to do?" He asked, and even though you couldn't see his face, you could hear his smile through his words.
You bit your lower lip in thought and finally allowed your eyes to gaze up to meet his. "Meet me in the Room of Requirement at 8." You told him almost in a whisper, not wanting everyone to hear.
The silver eyed boy smiled cheekily down at you and strutted away as your teacher had finally got through the crowd to dismiss the group.

8 o'clock came around and you were nervous. Really nervous! You weren't entirely sure how to word your question to him. You knew he had to accept it, because of the bet, but you were scared he would really hate you after it.
You paced backwards and forwards in the Room of Requirement as you waited for Draco to arrive. Butterfly's erupted in your stomach as you heard the door of the room close. Your head shot up to look at the boy that entered through the enchanted door. A smile crept into our face seeing Draco's pale features in the dim blue lighting of the room.
"Evening (Y/L/N)." He simply greeted, slowly making his way over to you confidently.
"Hey." You began to feel the nerves bubble up once again as he stopped in front of you.

His lips formed into a glad grin as he spoke. "So what is it you wanted?" He asked, untreated as to what you wanted him to do for you.
You took a deep breath and tried to push the nerves away before stumbling your way to the point. "Well, I guess I have wanted to ask you this for a while but I just haven't. I don't know if this is the best time and I know you kind of have to say yes but I really mean it and I was really just wondering if you would go on a date with me." You spoke quickly, half hoping he didn't hear any of what you just said but also hoping he heard everything. "Obviously you don't have to go out with me again if you don't want to." You muttered looking at the ground, feeling as nervous as a student taking their O.W.L's.
He chuckled at your nerves and held your hand, forcing you to look at Draco and his beautifully mesmerising grey eyes. "You really didn't have to win a bet to get me to go out with you. I would say yes regardless." He stated in a hushed voice.
You looked at him amazed. "Really?" You were sure he was joking.
"Yeah. I have liked you for years. There was just never a particularly good time to ask you out." He commented.
You were baffled. Draco Malfoy liked you. The boy you'd had a crush on for ages, liked you back.
Your smiled didn't falter as you took in what he said. Draco squeezed your hand and let go. "So, shall we say Tuesday around 5. Meet at the top of the Astronomy Tower." He confirmed.
You nodded eagerly as he walked out of the room giddily.

When he left you were alone in the room. You began running round the room in excitement, jumping around with happiness.
Little did you know, Draco was at the door watching you, smiling to himself at your playful nature and enchanting demeanour.
