Sirius Black had gained entry into the castle by some unknown means, meaning Dumbledore had decided to bundle the entire school into the Great Hall. Yeah, because that wouldn't be dangerous if a murderer came charged in. Everyone would all be in danger as opposed to just Dumbledore's favourite, Harry Potter.
You had been sat in your common room when it happened. Your father, Professor Severus Snape, strolled in and scanned around the room before ordering you all to gather in the Great Hall immediately. You and your boyfriend, Draco looked at each other and rolled your eyes at the inconvenience of the situation.
"What has happened anyway?" You wondered as you walked slowly past your father, hoping he would give you a little bit of exposition.
He glared down at you both, watching as you moved past. "I will tell you later. But for now, just stay together." He asked you both, turning his long nose up at students trying to listen into the brief conversation.
You just shrugged. Draco took your small hand in his and you followed the rest of the house out of the dungeons and up to the Great Hall.

There, you found rows of sleeping bags lead on the floor. It didn't look very comfortable and on top of that, you weren't even sure why you had even been sent in there. Begrudgingly, yourself and Draco made your way to a cluster of sleeping bags and sat down with the rest of the Slytherin third years following behind. "I bet it's all to do with him." Pansy spat, looking over to Potter who was wrapping his cold body in the thin material of the sleeping bag. You, along with the entire group, turned to look at the raven haired boy.
"I wouldn't be surprised. When hasn't he been involved in something." You commented, turning back to the group.
Goyle leaned forward. "I overheard a Gryffindor say it was Sirius Black. He's got into the castle somehow." He informed the group.
Pansy shook her head. "That's nonsense. Why would they take us out of our common room? He's not out to get us. Besides, he can't get in here." She shot back, making Goyle feel utterly stupid.

The discussion continued until Dumbledore strolled in, encouraging the hall of students to settle down and begin to sleep. You and Draco lead beside one another in the silent hall. Staring up at the enchanted ceiling, you sighed. You looked over at your boyfriend who was doing the exact same. Dumbledore and your father were at the other end of the hall so you took this moment to get closer to your boyfriend. Discreetly wiggling towards the blonde boy, he noticed you and smiled widely. Stretching his arms out towards you, he pulled you close and wrapped his arms around your small body.
Snuggling into his side, you whispered quietly to him as to not wake anyone around you. "Hey. Do you think Black would come after any of us? You know, because of how he felt about Slytherins?" You asked, slightly worried.
Draco squeezed you tight and kissed your forehead. "No my love. I don't think so. He's just out to get Potter. You know the history he has with him." He reassured you.
You looked rather worried. "But what about his history with my dad? You don't think-" you asked, wide eyed with worry.
Draco shook his head, cutting you off. "No (Y/N). He isn't going to hurt your dad. I promise." He kissed you lovingly. "Now try and get some sleep princess. I'll be right here." He spoke calmly as you smiled and lead your head on his chest.

You closed your eyes and tried your hardest to fall asleep. From a distance you could hear your father and Dumbledore talking about Harry Potter and Sirius Black. As their conversation drew to a close, one pair of footsteps drew nearer. "Master Malfoy." Snape whispered to your boyfriend.
You heard your boyfriend hum a yes before your father started once more. "Are you dating my daughter?" He asked bluntly.
Listening intently to their conversation, you continued to pretend you were sleeping as you felt Draco looked round at your dad. "Yes sir, I am. But don't worry. I will treat her right."
Snape made a noise that sounded as though he was thinking for a second. "Alright. If you hurt my daughter, there will be consequences. But I know you won't. She needs to be kept safe. Do you understand what I'm saying Draco. I have protected her up until now and I intend to keep it that way. You mustn't let anything happen to her." He told Draco as he agreed firmly. With that, your father was gone and you smiled to yourself softly as Draco pulled you closer.

When you woke up the next morning, you were still in your boyfriends arms. You smiled, waking up next to Draco felt so right. Snape stood at the end of the hall, scanning the rows. His eyes fell on you and Draco still locked together. A faint smile fell onto his face as he saw how happy you looked. That's all he ever wanted, was for you to be safe and happy.
You carefully slithered out of Draco's arms and walked down the hall towards your father. When you were stood in front of him, you wrapped your long arms around him and hugged him tight. "Thank you dad. I love you." You told him, smiling up at the tall man.
Snape really wasn't one to smile, but in this moment he smiled as though no one was watching and hugged you back.

So, I think my heart just stopped for a moment... 100 thousand reads?! This is insane. This is incredible. I honestly can't thank you all enough! I'm so grateful. You don't know how much this means to me. I cant describe it. Just THANK YOU, so much! I hope I can continue to create some fun, fluffy and decently (not really that well) written chapters for you in the future for you all. Thank you all. -A
