It was three weeks after the end of the war. You weren't celebrating. You weren't rebuilding Hogwarts. You weren't even at home. No, you were screwed up in a ball under a bed, praying the ministry wouldn't find you. But you weren't alone, Draco was beside you, clutching onto your hand as you heard the door to the small hotel room unlock.

You knew this was coming. Ever since you were younger. Your patients were best friends with the Malfoys, meaning you and Draco grew up together, learning the same things about the world. Muggles were the epitome of evil. Mudbloods were to be disposed of. And the Dark Lord would one day come back to save us all.
You grew up destined to become a Death Eater wether you liked it or not. You were defiantly not a fan of the idea, knowing Harry and believing in his cause more then the Dark Lords. But you had no choice. In 6th year, you and Draco became Death Eaters together, although neither of you wanting to belong to this side.
When the war finally came you were both forced to join your parents, much to your reluctance. You and Draco had made a promise to each other that whatever you did, you did it together.
You were both in the same boat after all, so thought it best to stick together. Even if you were rowing up shit creak without a paddle.
You both walked over to the other side when Dracos mother called, not your fathers. It was their fault you were both in this mess, their fault your mother had died as she refused to fight against her old friends. So dragging your feet to the other side, your hands gripping each others as your classmates watched to two of you unwillingly betray them.

When Harry turned out to still be alive, Narcissa took the two of you away from the battle imminently. Knowing your mother also wouldn't want you or Draco fighting against your friends.
When the war was over, Lucius and your father were two of the first people to be taken in by the ministry. Narcissa hid you both away in Snapes old house so they wouldn't find you, warning the two of you that if anyone came to the house you must both leave immediately.
As you can tell, representatives from the ministry did arrive at the house, and as Narcissa distracted them, it gave you both time to get away.

That had been a week ago. Since then Draco and yourself had been traveling though the country to find somewhere people wouldn't find you. You had used polyjuice potion that you had found in Snapes house to get into a small hotel on the outskirts of Surry without being detected. You both knew you had to lay low until you could find a secluded permeant residence.
That was last night, but now the ministry had been tipped off about two young wizards wandering the streets of Surry and had tracked you both down.

You heard some sort of commotion downstairs as a man was discussing something with the manager of the hotel loudly. At first you and Draco didn't know what was going on. "Who do you think that is?" Draco asked, listening to the loud argument going on beneath him.
You shrugged. "No idea. Just as long as whoever that is doesn't come upstairs, he can do whatever he wants." You sigh, beginning to feel fed up of running.
Picking up the Daily Prophet you had bought yesterday evening, you read the front page. 'LATEST DEATH EATERS CAUGHT' it read. Draco's beautiful mother had been taken in for questioning and was one of the few witches and wizards to be featured on the page. They had caught the majority of the Death Eaters in the first week but there were still a few out there. Narcissa didn't deserve to be branded as a bad woman. She was protecting her son. She was doing her duty as a mother.
You threw the newspaper in the bin, not wanting Draco to see the story that made his mother look evil.

Draco wandered over to you and wrapped his arms around your small figure. It was comforting when he did this. It made you feel like you weren't alone when so many people were out to get you. You turned in his arms and hugged him back. Leaning your head against his shoulder, Draco kissed the top of your head. "We're going to be okay. We are going to get out of here, find somewhere safe and be okay." He whispered into your hair, both talking to you and reassuring himself.
Before you could say anything, the shouting from downstairs stopped. You and Draco stood as still as statues listening out for footsteps.
The gentle plodding of feet was heard coming up the stairs and advancing down the hallway. The people outside began knocking on doors, making their way closer to your room.
You pulled Draco towards the bed and hid under it. Pulling out your wand, you casting the Disillusionment Charm around the bed to keep you hidden. Draco grabbed onto your hand like he had done so many times before, but this time it felt different. He was scared, you could feel it in the way he held you like it would be the last time he ever would.

A loud, hard knock was heard at the door. When you didn't move, the wizard on the other side unlocked the door with his wand and strolled through the door with two others standing behind. You had seen them before. They worked for the ministry. Scanning the room, his gaze fell on the bin.
"There's no one here." One of the other wizards commented.
The one in front shook his head. "The bin is full. They were here. Or they are still here." He assessed.
Your eyes widened. How could you be so stupid. You had been so careful not to leave any traces.
Draco was breathing shallowly, hoping he didn't make a sound. The three men began turning the room upside down in search of you both. One of the ministry workers got down in his knees and looked under the bed. You held your breath as his face came dangerously close to your own. The man scowled and stood up. "They have gone." The other man spoke up. The other two nodded, exiting the room, discussing where to check next.

As the door slammed shut, you let out the breath you had been holding in. You took the charm off of the bed and crawled out from underneath it with Draco in tow. As he stood up he looked at you with wide eyes. Quickly pulling you into a bone-crushing hug, he muttered thank you's in your ear.
"Thank you (Y/N). I don't know what I would do without you. You are perfect." He told you pulling away finally.
"I love you so much." He whispered, looking down at his feet.
You tilted his head up to look into your eyes. You saw the innocent honesty that started back at you. Placing a small, sweet kiss upon his lips he smiled softly. "I love you to Draco. But we really have to get out of here. Someone will be back here to check if we 'returned'." You warned him honestly.
He nodded, knowing you were right. "Let's go." He commented as you took his arm and he apparate you both to a wooded area.
