It was two years after the war and you and Draco had finally reintroduced yourself into normal civilised society. Unlike both of your fathers; yours being held in Azkaban and his keeping an exceptionally low profile. You had just landed a job working alongside Hermione Granger, your old school friend and now Minister for Magic. Draco was content, researching papers on advanced alchemy and keeping a safe eye on his collection of priceless dark artifices his family had passed down to him. You were both in a good place now and couldn't wait to get on with your lives together without fear people would look at you with displeased eyes.

The two of you were lead with one another on your large double bed, enjoying each others company. There was more free space on the bed then you were laying on, you were so close. With Draco lacing his long, nimble fingers through your soft hair, he kissed the top of your head lovingly. "Princess. I was wondering if you wanted to go out tomorrow evening?" He questioned, seeming slightly nervous but you just brushed it off.
You turned your head to look up at your long time boyfriend. "Yeah. That sounds nice." You smiled, looking forward to the events of tomorrow, whatever they may be. "What were you planing on doing?" You enquired, intrigued as to where you would both be going.
Draco just smiled softly. "I haven't quite decided yet, but hopefully you'll like it. I'll meet you at work tomorrow and we can go from there?" He confirmed with you.
Nodding in agreement, you snuggled back into Draco's chest comfortably. "Sounds like a plan. Can't wait." You grinned, wondering what could occur the following day.

As the sun rose the next morning, you hopped out of bed to get dressed for work. You wore black trousers, a white shirt, with a blue jumper over the top so the collar of the shirt poked over the top. The sleeves of your jumper hung over your hands from where you pulled at it when you wore it due to your nerves.
You stood in the kitchen by the counter, making a cup of tea. Even though Lucius insisted, you and Draco didn't want House Elves around. You were both fully capable of doing things yourselves. As the kettle came to the boil, you felt a pair of arms snake around your waste from behind. "Morning beautiful." Draco murmured in your ear, kissing your cheek lightly.
Pouring the water into a mug, you looked over to Draco who had rested his chin on your shoulder. "Morning to you to." You greeted with more life in your words than him.
It was obvious he had just woken up due to his tired eyes and cuddly posture. "Do you have to go to work? Just stay home with me all day. Please love." He asked, pouting innocently.
You giggled at the sweet 20 year old beside you. "You know I would if I could," You began, starting to walk over to the living room with your tea. "But I can't. Hermione has just had a meeting with the Prime Minister about Muggle and Wizard interaction and I have a lot of paperwork to file because of it." You informed him, rushing around to find your shoes wile sipping the steaming beverage.
Draco collapsed on the sofa, watching you scurry around to locate your other shoe. "Can't you do that tomorrow?" He pleaded, already knowing the answer. Draco leaned over the side of the emerald sofa and picked up your shoe that sat on the floor beside it.
He held it up for you to see as you looked over at him. "Thanks." You smiled, taking the polished black shoe from your boyfriend. "But you know I can't. Although, I can't wait for later." You grinned widely before downing the rest of your tea and placing a kiss on his cheek. "I'll see you later. I'm going to be late. Love you Draco."
He kissed you quickly on the lips before saying "Bye (Y/N). Love you too." You apparated out of the room and into your office that was over run with paperwork, just in time before Hermione strolled powerfully through the door, giving you a welcoming smile.

As your work day drew to a close, you still hadn't finished and you knew Draco was waiting for you outside your office. You stapled a collection of papers together, sending it flying over to the other side of the room, as Hermione walked in. "(Y/N). Go home. You'll be here for hours otherwise and Draco's waiting for you." She smiled. You tried to protest but she cut you off. "No. Go. You deserve it. You have worked hard. Have a nice evening." She spoke softly. She was a lovely boss but normally liked everything to be sorted quickly, which is why you were puzzled as to why she allowed you to go home at the normal time. Shrugging it off, you thanked her profusely and ran out of the door to find Draco.

You found the out of place boy leant against the, purple tinted, black tiled wall, gazing at the tidal wave of wizards and witches that rushed past. As you skipped over to him, you wrapped you arms around his shoulders, taking him by surprise. "Oh. (Y/N). Hey. I wondered when you'd be out." He fumbled over is choice of words making you chuckle.
"Come on. Let's go." You took his hand and ran down the bustling corridor of mature older witches and wizards. You felt like you were in school again, being the only one messing around in a group of other students. "So where are we going my love?" You asked, swinging his arm back and forth as you walked.
Draco just smirked. "Hold on tight." He murmured as you clung onto his arm in anticipation.

The next thing you knew, you were in the middle of a field. You thought it odd, Draco bringing you here, but then you realised exactly where you were. Between 4th and 5th year, you went to visit Draco at the Manor. He took you on an adventure through the vast forest that was round the corner from his home. There, he bought you through the forest and into a field full of grassy hills that looked over a glistening lake. This is where he had asked you to be his girlfriend almost 6 years ago.
"It hasn't changed one bit." You acknowledged, looking out at the perfect surroundings. The sun had set, leaving the moon to shine over the clear water in front of you both. The stars above where twinkling and shimmering like little fireflies. It was dark but you could see everything rather clearly with the aid of the full moonlight and both yours and Draco's wands.

"It really is beautiful." You heard Draco say. You turned to face him as he starred at your moonlit face intently with a soft smile on his face. "Um. (Y/N). Their was a reason I brought you here and that reason is because I want to ask you something." He began nervously.
Looking into his large grey eyes, you nodded. "We have been together for about 6 years now and I love every moment I spend with you. I love lying next to you. I love waking up with you in my arms. I love you way you smile at everything. I love the way you laugh in awkward situations. I love the way your eyes shine in different ways in alternative lights. I love that I can trust you with everything. I love when you roll your eyes at my stupid statements. I love everything about you. And most importantly, I just love you!" He reeled off, getting more confident with every passing comment. "That's why I wanted to ask you this, here and now." He announced.

Draco knelt down in front of you, one knee on the floor, one above his foot. Your eyes widened as he reached into his pocket. "(Y/N) (Y/L/N), will you possibly do me the greatest honour of taking my name and becoming my wife?" He asked the important question.
You nodded franticly, diving on top of him as you both fell onto the grass beneath you. "Yes. Yes, yes of course." You agreed, kissing your now fiancé that was lead underneath you.
As you pulled away from each other, you both giggled at the situation. "I love you Draco Malfoy." You spoke as honestly as you possibly could.
He kissed you instantly in response, slowly but passionately. "I love you too (Y/N). More than anything in the world."
