I woke up to the smell of bacon, eggs, and something sweet. I stretched my whole body, hearing a few pops. I sat up and looked around groggily at my room. I rubbed my eyes, noticing just how bright it was, and groaned. I slipped out of bed and padded downstairs, following the delicious aroma.
I turned the corner to the kitchen to see Steph and, to my surprise, Heidi sitting in the bar stools. Even more surprising, Seth was at the stove cooking breakfast.
"Careful," I said, causing all three of them to jump. "He may have spiked your orange juice."
"Wow." Seth said, shaking his head.
"Problem?" I asked, taking an orange and began peeling it.
"Just didn't expect that first thing in the morning."
"I didn't expect to be left to fend for myself on Saturday, but I guess people aren't always as they seem." I'll admit, I was being a little harsh on him, but I really didn't care. He pissed me off the other night, and he didn't even call to check up on me the past three days either. If it wasn't for Megan, I probably would've taken Luke's offer to fly to Tennessee.
"Jesus Benny, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Steph commented.
"No." I scowled.
"Honestly, he deserves whatever Bent throws at him." Heidi piped up.
"And why is that?" Steph asked her.
Heidi sighed and leaned over, whispering something in her ear. Steph's face instantly turned to anger.
"You jackass." She told him, throwing a piece of French toast at him.
"Oh my god what is going on?!" Seth said, looking genuinely confused.
"I could've been kidnapped and my own cousin wouldn't have cared!" I hollered at him. "Plus, you're a completely different person when you aren't around your mom. I don't like that person."
"I'm only that person when I'm with my friends." He explained.
"What the hell is your problem?" Steph said, crossing her arms.
"I just," Seth sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "I wanted to apologize and so I thought I'd make you breakfast."
"Were you gonna serve it to me in bed?" I smiled slightly, letting him know that I would let it go for now.
"Um yeah." He smiled. "Totally."
"Then all is well." I said, taking a plate and sitting next to Heidi. I looked over at Heidi and Steph, who were both giving me incredulous looks, and shrugged.
In all honesty, I am still pissed off. I mean, had he just gotten off that couch and walked with me to the door, Damien probably wouldn't have attacked, and things would be different now. But if things were different, Steph wouldn't be here, and I wouldn't have met Hazel. So I see no point in holding a grudge, when he really doesn't even realize the consequences of his actions.
I felt Heidi kick me and I looked up to her handing me her phone.
I have to tell you something like right now. It said in her notes.
