(Y/n)'s POV

"I'm sorry Princess Eirika and Lady (y/n) for grabbing you two so abruptly," General Seth apologized.

"No, don't be sorry, you did as commanded...but what about my father and castle Renais? I can't help but worry about possible negative outcomes." Eirika said worried.

"And what of Prince Ephraim? Rumor has it that he and his small company of soldiers are on route to Grado. Oh how I pray to God for his wellbeing!" I cried.

"Fret not! I can assure you that both the King, Prince Ephraim, and the people of Renais will preserve." The general said trying to ease Eirika and I's anxieties.

We were on route to the land of Frelia where our good friends Innes and Tana, along with their father King Hayden reside; however, we were halted by a giant wyvern who flew up behind us. A thin, middle aged man with a ghostly, shriveled up face known as Valter from the infamous Grado was mounted on the wyvern and confronted us, demanding for Princess Eirika. General Seth guarded her, but Valter's spear pierced Renais' most loyal general, causing a minor laceration in his chest.

"General Seth!" Eirika shouted.

"Don't worry, I would be a failure of a guard if I couldn't endure a small wound like this." He replied as we were able to make a hasty retreat on Seth's horse.

Although we were able to escape the clutches of Grado's Valter, we were stopped once again by some of Grado's people. Seth insisted on protecting the princess and I, and gave us each a rapier in case evil befell upon him.

"I know a reasonable amount of swordsplay, so I'll assist you General Seth!" Eirika proclaimed.

"Me too, a-although I'm more skilled in archery."  My meek voice said.

The general sighed before giving in to our requests,"Alright, but promise me the two of you will leave me and escape if it's too much for you to handle."

"You have our word." Eirika responded.

Our enemies seemed to be third rate fighters with fourth rate weapons at best. With Seth's strength, Eirika's optimism, and my encouragement we easily overwhelmed our opponents.

The path to Frelia was a treacherous one, but we made in there in one piece thanks to help from Franz, a soldier from Renais whom Seth told to go ahead of us when we first left and inform King Hayden the situation in Renais. When we arrived at Castle Frelia we spoke to the king, who was elated that we were safe.

"Princess Eirika, Lady (Y/n). I'm afraid I bear some heartbreaking news concerning your hometown of Renais...I regret to inform you that your father, King Fado and his loyal companions Sir (l/n) and Madam (l/n) have fallen in battle." King Hayden stated.

"Father..." Eirika's voice trailed off.

"Blast! Why would Grado do such a thing?!" I exclaimed slamming my fist against the wall.

"The reason still remains a mystery to us all. I foresee a war brewing, not just involving Grado and Renais, but all of Magvel." The King of Frelia responded.

"Do you have any information about my brother's whereabouts?" Princess Eirika asked.

"Aye, your brother Prince Ephraim lives. According to reports, he is in Renvall fighting to capture Grado."

"C-capture Grado?! With such a small force? That's absurd!" I stood astonished.

"Thank you King Hayden, I'll be going to fight by my brother's side." Eirika announced making everyone in the room gasp.

"Eirika, don't be so rash! We barely have an army!" I protested.

"You can stay here in Frelia (y/n), but I'm going to aid Ephraim!"

"If the princess is going I shall as well." General Seth declared.

"Not you too General! You can't be serious, we have no army!" I couldn't believe Seth and Eirika.

"Lady (y/n) is right, this is suicide! Frelia doesn't have soldiers to spare to accompany you. Surely the late King Fado would not want this! I can not permit you to go." King Hayden stepped in.

"My apologies, but I must go. I have to find out for myself why Grado is doing this." The princess insisted.

The king massaged his temples and sighed,"I see I can't change your mind...alright, while I can't send you off with much, but I can supply you with 5000 pounds of gold for funding. Also, I'll send with you three of my trusted vessels: Vanessa, Gilliam, and Moulder."

"Thank you King Hayden, I promise to be careful." Eirika curtsied.

Everyone is being so naive! How can an army of seven, which includes me if I go, make it to Renvall during warring times?! Our chances are slim to none, but once the princess gets an idea in her head, it's hard to sway her from it. Oh God, what am I getting into? Fine, I guess I'll go only because I long to see Ephraim.

Eirika, Seth, Franz, and the three vessels from Frelia were departing at sundown, not waiting for the morning to come.

"Eirika, halt!" I yelled causing the blue haired princess to stop in her tracks and turn around.

"Hm, what is it (y/n)?"

"I'm coming with you! I-i want to see Ephraim." I blushed.

Her eyes widened at my change of mind, and a smile crept upon her face,"Me too."
