The Fight

“Are you sure you’re going to be okay? You don’t want to spend the weekend here?” Logan was like an overbearing and protective older brother. He worried too much. He didn’t even know where I was going but somehow he knew I was going to go see him. Ricky.

It was Friday, and like Ricky has been drilling into my head for the past month now, I only had one thing to do. Go to Pete’s Pub, and see the fight he was so desperate for me to watch. He promised that if I wore the outfit he picked out and followed his instructions to the letter I wouldn’t get caught by the rest of the gang, who unfortunately, would be there. I had to be a big fight if the whole gang would be there. Bella normally never went to street fights, this wasn’t a street fight. This was a ring fight, the big money kind. Blake had a fight today too, but it was probably just another street fight Chris scheduled on the same day. He liked to do that so people wouldn’t find out that he had two fighters out at the same time, that was against the rules and if anyone found out…well let’s just say they wouldn’t be happy about it.

“Logan I’ll be fine. It’s not a big deal.”

“Logan chill out, she’s probably just going out to get laid. Leave her alone!” Tina called from the couch.

“Aunty Tina, when are you leaving?” Logan groaned.

“In about an hour, I’ve got a hot date with a lawyer.” She winked at me. “If I play my card right, Aunty Tina is going to be rich!” I rolled my eyes and laughed.

“Bye.”

“Bye.” Logan said giving me a hug. “Be safe.” He whispered and gave me a kiss on the forehead. I got in the car with Jo; the ride to my house was mostly silent.

“Where are you really going tonight?” Jo asked as she pulled up to my apartment. “Going to meet that drug dealer boyfriend of yours again?” she teased.

“Don’t worry about it Jo.”

“Can’t help but worry, you’re like a daughter to me.” I smiled. “I’d rather you’d be shacking up with my brother than that douche of a booty call.” I giggled.

“Shut up.”

“I’m serious. You know why he was so pissed yesterday?” I shook my head. “His dad called and asked Carla and him to come over in the afternoon for lunch. Lyle hates his dad. He’ll joke about him and poke fun to make it seem like he really doesn’t care around you and his students…but he hates him. Like really despises the man, so when he told Carla they weren’t going he expected her to take his side like a good wife would do and not go. She went without him. Don’t know why, but she just left. She thinks Lyle is being childish about the whole thing with his dad, but she doesn’t know the whole story.”

“What is the whole story?”

“Not my story to tell. I’ve got plenty of stories I could tell you about Lyle he wouldn’t tell you himself simply because they’re half mine…but not that one. Sorry.” I nodded understanding, but it only made me more curious. There was this whole other side to Mr. Clark I haven’t even begun to understand and I knew a key piece of figuring that part out was Johanna. I just needed to know the right questions to ask. “He deserves better then that slut.” She sighed and shook her head as if shaking away our conversation. “Now get out of my car and get dressed all slutty for your booty call.” I groaned and rolled my eyes.
