YAY!!! I finally got to uploading the next portion. Though it took me longer than expected. The next three portions used to be titled: Life and Death. For those who read my novel before I started the edits.

I uploaded this chapter early for you guys. As a gift since it has my one year anniversary on Wattpad. I hope you enjoy it. :)

A couple months later I awoke from my sleep with pain radiating deep within my body. The pain had increased in intensity and expanded its region. It now resided from my abdomen up close to my heart.

Trying not to make a sound so to not wake Camron, who slept soundly beside me, I clutched my chest with desperation as I grit my teeth. The only sound disturbing the quiet was my labored breathing.

After what seemed like forever but were really only a few agonizing moments the radiating pain finally subsided. Allowing me to breathe regularly once more. I let out a soft sigh of relief when the pain fully retreated. But the feeling of dread that something awful will happen soon replaced what little peace I had possessed.

A clear crystal that lay by my bedside began to emit a bright purple light, indicating that my father was calling out to me. The pair of crystals allowed my father and I to communicate with each other without difficulty as the time drew near for Olivianna to have her child. Wrapping my fingers around the glowing crystal I answer his call, "Hello?"

"Avian, Olivianna has gone into labor. But there seems to be complications with the birth." My father frantically replied. My collected father losing his calm was never a good sign.

Wanting to leave as soon as I possible I try to estimate the time it would take to arrive to the cabin and how long I had until she delivered. "How much time do I have to get there before she delivers?"

"Not much, ten to fifteen minutes at most." Crap, it takes twice that amount of time to get there.

"Looks like I have no choice then." I mutter more to myself than to my father. I could practically feel his confusion through the crystal as he didn't know what I meant by my words. "I'll be there within five minutes or less." I cut off the communication by pocketing the crystal in order to scramble out of bed to gather my clothes. Placing them over my sleep wear.

"What's going on?" Camron sat up from the bed, the sheets falling down to his waist showing off his bare muscular chest, his voice thick from sleep.

"My sister went into labor, she will be delivering soon. I have to get there quickly as possible." I explain as I hastily pull on my boots.

He got up from the bed, pulling on his pants that he grabbed from the floor, "How do you intend to get there quickly?"

"By using a portal." I say in a 'duh' tone.

His eyes grew larger in shock before anger replaced the shock, "No! No! No!" He waved his hands around in the air. "I forbid it. The last time you created a portal you were unconscious for an hour."

"Camron, I have to try. That is my sister, if something goes wrong both her and the baby could die." I plead with my eyes for him to understand the predicament and my decision.

He groaned as he slid a hand down his face, rubbing away the last indication of sleep from his face. "Fine, but I am coming with you. Just in case."
