Splitting up

Chapter thirty-eight
Kristen POV: I wake up to three missed calls from Alli. I won't answer them or call her back. She must be getting here soon because Charles came in m room to wake me up. "Kristen? Ready for today?" I shake my head and pull my blankets over my face. "Come on Kristen. You will still see her. She won't leave forever." I sit up in my bed and rub my eyes. "I don't want to say goodbye..." I say stretching. "Who does?" Charles asks sitting next to me. "What if she has more visiting days than you?" He shrugs and puts his chin on my head. "Let's hope for the best."

We hear the doorbell ring and the dogs go crazy. "She's here." I say standing up and crossing my arms. Charles gets the door and she hugs him. I uncross my arms and hug her. "I missed you." I say hugging her. She holds me and says back and forth. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She says kissing my head. "I don't want this to happen." I say pushing myself away. "I'm sorry, it's for the best." She walks to her old room and starts packing her things. "That's how it's going to end... She says it's for the best and she walks off..." I mumble to myself and sit on the couch. "What did you say?" Charles asks walking over. "Nothing." I answer shaking my head. Twenty minutes later and Alli comes out with her eyes swollen and all of her bags. "Ok," she takes a deep breath, "I love you two." She says hugging us. "And the dogs." She leans down to kiss the dogs and she stands back up. "Bye." She says walking out of the door. "Alli wait," I yell running after her, "this is really it? Your living with your parents? That's it?" She puts her bags in her car and hugs me. "I found a house near my parents. I will stay wit them until everything gets in the house. It has four bedrooms three bathrooms. It's two floors and it will fit me and the babies and you when you come over. Talk to you later ok?" She hugs me and I nod. "Talk to you later." I say before letting go. This is it. She will be gone until next week or so. I wave and walk back inside. "Her new house has two floors, four bedrooms, three bathrooms and whatever else a Florida house has. I don't wanna live there. It won't be home! It won't be right!" I sit on the couch and put my head in my hands. Charles sits next to me and kisses the top of my head. I lean into him and he comforts me the best he can. "I'm going to my room." I say getting up. I need a break from the world. I turn off my phone and lock my door. I just need a break. This doesn't feel real. If I feel bad how does Alli feel? I lay down and cry into my pillow for hours.
"Kristen? Want dinner?" Charles says from outside my door. Dinner?! I fell to sleep that long! I get up and unlock my door. "Yea, I'm a little hungry." He laughs and we walk to the kitchen. "You should be more than a little hungry." We sit at the table and eat salads. "Updates on Alli?" Charles nods and pulls out his phone. "She is taking you every alternate Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and I get you back Tuesday." I nod and take a bite of my salad. "So you have me more then her?" He nods and drinks some of his juice. "You are going this weekend to get your room settled ok?" I nod slowly and take a bite. "What about the twins?" "When they are four I get to see them, we don't want to put pressure on them yet." I shake my head in disagreement. "That isn't right! You don't see them until they are four! That's like two years!" He sighs and takes a bite, "I will get to see them int then it's just I won't keep them for a certain amount of days." I finish eating and clean my plate. "I'm tired." I say and walk to my room. "Kristen? Really? You slept the whole day!" "I know!" I yell back and close the door, locking it. I turn on my tv and watch it for a little bit. I finally turn the tv off and fall asleep.
