Hello, hello.....I'm back like I promised, eager to share with you my new story and exchange ideas with you again. How is everyone? I hope you're all good, and I am looking forward to meeting some of you at the 2017 ADNFest tomorrow! My health has improved much, the rest has done me a lot of good.

Anyway, this new story is very different from the past two works I've done. It's not a romcom, for one, but don't worry, this story is not all out angsty, there's also a lot of fluff in it. I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless, and will join me in this new journey.

When I was younger and in doubt, I always asked God for signs about the things important to me. The signs bordered on the ridiculous sometimes, because I believed then that the crazier the sign is, the more accurate the result will be. And I believed those signs, mind you. But looking back, if I disregarded those 'signs,' what would my life turn out to be like? If I believed a certain guy and I were not meant to be, what are the chances that I might be happier if I only disregarded the signs and took a gamble?

We ask for these signs because we want to make good judgments. But you know what, the best judgments and decisions still come with asking for enlightenment from God, and listening to that voice of reason inside us. Alam naman natin ang gagawin sometimes, we just refuse to acknowledge it.

Here's the first chapter of my latest work, your comments are gold, my friends. I missed all of you and hope to hear from you again :)

Evanston, Illinois - Summer, 2011

Dei eyed the cafeteria and selected a table at the far end corner, away from the noise and banter of students. The view was good, she just wanted to enjoy her coffee and cake without much noise, to give her a good frame of mind for the story she was writing. She was already halfway into the story, and her followers on Wattpad were hooked. Hopefully, she'd finish the story in a few weeks and if response was good, she could edit it and publish on Kindle and Amazon.

Her confidence was still not quite there, even if response to her previous works were short of raving. Her followers have multiplied by the thousands, the comments were very encouraging save for a few trolls, which was normal. As she buckled down to work and opened her laptop, a hand grips her wrist firmly.

"Mendez."

"Brad, not now ok? I'm writing."

"All work and no play makes Dei a boring girl."

She pulled her wrist away and looked sharply at him.

"Boring is good for me. Now shoo."

"You can't discard me just like that."

"What is your problem, Brad?"

"You. You're the problem. Breaking up with me was a bad idea, Mendez."

"We were never together, dumbass. Two dates and you think you can get into my pants? Now fuck off or---"

"Or what?" He moved threateningly toward her, his face inching closer to hers. His hand grips her wrist painfully, his fingertips digging into her flesh.

"She's with me."

They both looked behind Brad to see a Greek god dressed in jeans, a black pullover and varsity jacket. He was tall, and everything about him was in perfect sync. His dark brows framed warm brown eyes that looked sharply at Brad, his perfectly curved mouth stern. There was a cleft on his chin and a single pock mark on his right cheek that added character instead of deducting from his perfection. His dark hair was neatly parted on the side, with some strands straying down on his forehead.
