Chapter 43 - Edit

Hello, hello! So sorry but reality is eating me up and preventing me from updating as often as we're used to. But here it is, the much awaited no-holds-barred interview of Dei and Kat. 

The interview will be in two parts, masyadong mahaba if I put it all here so may continuation in the next chapter. Hope you like this, I am sort of drained form all the things happening lately but sige lang, still up for the fight.

The sisters sat side-by-side each other, both looking lovely and glammed up for this TV special. It was supposedly just a simple FB live event, but of course, when the teaser came out for it, the event got larger than life and Jessica Soho wanted in. From a simple FB live segment with a supposedly controlled Q&A, it became one of Kapuso Jessica Soho's segments in her Sunday show.

Closed-door taping was set on a Saturday in an undisclosed location, to avoid any leakages and fans who might take behind-the-scene stolen videos. Dei was nervous, it was her first time to appear on a TV show and speak about her personal life. But she was determined to do this to get her life back. She wanted to walk in public with her head held high.

Jessica : So, thank you for gracing the show Kat and Dei. Malapit nang ipalabas ang Disruption, tell us something muna about the movie.

Kat : Disruption is a film adaptation of a book written by my good friend Richard Faulkner, Jr. (Shows Disruption book to camera) Siya rin po si Alden Richards, yun po ang international pen name niya.

Jessica : I see, so bakit hindi Alden Richards ang name niya sa book na ito?

Kat : Kasi po hindi ito kasama sa books na ni-release ng publisher niya. Actually, si Ate Dei ang nagpa-publish ng Disruption at dito lang sa Pilipinas ni-release.

Jessica : I see. Dei, bakit naisip mong ipa-publish ang Disruption?

Dei : Pinabasa kasi sakin ni Richard yung story niya, which he wrote when we were still in college. Nagandahan ako sa story and I thought it would be nice if other people can read it also.

Jessica : Ok, tama ba na sinulat ni Richard ito after ng break-up niya with his girlfriend in college?

Dei : Yes, tama po.

Jessica : I'm sure everyone wants to know if si Kat yun.

Kat : No. Hindi po ako yun.

Jessica : Dei, diba friends na din kayo ni Richard since college? Kilala mo ba kung sino yung girl na yun?

Dei and Kat looked at each other. Dei was still hesitant to answer but Kat held her hand and Dei nodded at Kat.

Kat : Ako na lang sasagot ng question na yan. Richard wrote that story for Dei.

Jessica : Oh. So siya yung girlfriend ni Richard noon?

Kat : Yes poi. When they were in college, Richard and Dei were close, they had feelings for each other. Kaya lang si Ate Dei was under scholarship grant and needed to prioritize her studies. So they separated pero stayed friends pa rin.

Jessica : Nagkaroon ba ng chance na magkabalikan kayo, Dei?

Dei : After naming mag-graduate, bumalik na po akong Pilipinas, pero nag-usap po kami ni Richard. Nagpromise po siya na susundan niya ko dito after niya ayusin yung pagsusulat niya. Di naman po ako umasa pero tinupad niya po yun, hinanap nga niya ako.

Jessica : Dei, once and for all, kasi matagal nang hinihintay ito ng fans eh. Sino sa inyo ni Kat ang talagang girlfriend ngayon ni Richard?

Dei already had tears in her eyes and she looked really nervous. Kat pulled her arm and linked it through hers.

Dei : Ako po.

Jessica : So wala kayong relasyon talaga Kat? Bakit pinaniwala niyo yung fans na kayo ni Richard ang may relasyon?

Kat : To be honest po, mula nung nagstart kami sa project na 'to, wala po ni isa sa amin ang nagsabi na kami po ni Richard ang magboyfriend. Sa interviews na ginrant namin we never answered that question because my management wanted us to concentrate sa movie.

Jessica : So never kayo nagdate ni Richard at all? Kahit friendly date lang?

Kat : Never po. Alam niyo naman ang chismis, pag kumalat, nadadagdagan ang kwento. I want to dare anyone to release a photo na nagdate kami ni Richard. Lahat po ng behind-the-scene photos namin puro work-related, wala pong moments na kami ni Richard naglalambingan or sweet. Kaya po nagtataka ako kung bakit kami ang na-link together, nakakahiya sa kapatid ko na siya pa ang lumabas na masama.

They took a short break because Dei was already crying. They were allowed a 30-minute break, after which Dei had a make-up retouch. Dei was more composed when they started shooting again.

Jessica : Dei, bakit hindi ka nagsalita about your relationship with Richard? Hindi ka ba na-bother na si Kat at si Richard daw ang bagay sa isat-isa? Kasi two months din yung shoot, but you kept quiet.

Dei : To be honest po, I did not think na aabot sa ganitong point na may mga bashers pa ako. I told Richard na two months lang naman yun, we concentrate on the movie, the rumors might die down if walang magsasalita. Kasi, wala naman pagpapanggap na naganap, kahit po sa photos na magkasama si Kat lang and Richard, nag-uusap lang naman sila or magkatabi but never anything sweet, and that was fine with me.

Jessica : So bakit nag-assume ang fans na merong something?

Kat : Hindi rin po namin alam. Yung publicity photos on the shoot wala naman pong kasamang write-ups pero yung fans kasi sometimes they edited photos para mag appear na sweet kami ni Richard, tapos siyempre pag nashare na yan sa Facebook or Twitter, akala ng ibang fans tutoong photo yun. May mga lumalabas pang convos daw naming sa phone, which of course, is not true. Saka tabloid writers din po kasi may mga sinusulat na hindi naman namin sinabi, we chose to ignore na lang kasi nga ang focus namin nasa movie.

Jessica : Pero Kat, single ka ba? May boyfriend ka na ba?

Kat : Yes po, taken na ako. (Smile na kinikilig)

Jessica : Pwede mo bang i-share sa amin kung sino yung boyfriend mo?

Kat : Nandito po siya.

Jessica : Wow, talaga? Nasaan? Ok lang bang ipakita sa viewers?

Kat : Wait lang po.....

Kat stands up to get Inigo.

Jessica : Dei, alam mo may visitor ka dito eh.

Dei : Po?

Jessica : May visitor ka dito. Teka lang ha..... heto.....heto na siya.

Dei hears the staff cheering and screaming and turns her head towards the noise. Richard walks into the set with a bouquet of roses, looking so handsome in his black and white pullover and jeans. She stands to meet him, her face totally surprised, her hands on her mouth. He walks up to her and puts his arms around her, kissing her on the mouth as she hugs him back. They disengage and he gives her the bouquet, her eyes shiny with tears.

"What are you doing here?" She asks smiling.

"Reinforcement," He whispers against her ear.
