Chapter 39

-VALERIE'S P.O.V-

I vaguely remember. I was so out of it. I was so loopy from the venom.
But I didn't want to ask for forever. I mean, I did. But. I want her forever in all ways. I want to be legally bonded as we are physically, magically, mentally and supernaturally.
It's just the matter of asking. The right way. I have a ring, I have had for a while... hidden.. with Joel.

He nods. "When is this to be done?"
"I want to do it tonight. I.. She saved me. She went into my nightmare and pulled me out. I was trapped and she got me out."

He pulls the box from his pocket. "I'm jealous. This is the most prettiest ring I have ever seen."
"Yeah... I hope she likes it. I don't know if she even wants marriage. We never talked about it... just hadn't had the time."
"So tonight. Tonight."
"Yes."
"Are you nervous? You don't look nervous?"
"I'm not. I'm trying to figure out how. Like. In the middle of a restaurant? Here? Maybe have some wine and do it here?"

"And what if she says no?"

I carry her in our room and sit her on the bed. "Want a shower?"

I walk in and get the water and things ready for us.

I lean down and kiss her cheek. "Why don't you go set up a movie. I'll be in with the wine in a minute."
She nods and heads to our room. I go in the kitchen and Joel comes in.
"You need to relax."

My anxiety is at a all time high. I know that even if she said no, we would still be together until we are ready to take that step. But it's been over a year with her and.. I want more.
I take the wine and glasses into our room with Joel's courage. I can't believe I'm doing this. But I've never felt more ready for it.
I sit the glasses down at the table in front of the tv. She searches through movies. I crouch in one knee behind her....
"Nin.."
I pull out the box before she turns around. Her eyes.. so bright.. I'm shaking.....
"My love for you.. is so strong. I want to give myself to you in every way possible. So I'm asking this. Asking for a forever in all ways. I'm just a demon who fell in love with an angel. My heart. My heart. The world seems to be stopped around me but it's not my power. My heart. My doubt. My fears. All.. all taking over.
