-VALERIE'S P.O.V-

Dropping on a building, I'm forced to let her go. I hate not being able to hold her. I've become more dependant on her than I thought I would have ever for someone ever.
She drops off me but stands on her tippy toes. She kisses my lips for a moment but gives me the chance to kiss back, this time. I smile against her lips and feel her do the same.
I love this woman more than anything and right now, she's my purpose in breathing. My purpose beyond my abandoned destiny.
"Where's Luke?" She speaks to Joel and takes my hand.
"Has right there." I point to the corner behind a line of cars.
"Does this den have to be under a Wal-Mart? The place is filled with people."
"Slow time? I take care of the people above and you take the hive?"
I lean down and kiss her forehead. "See you on the other side. Be careful."
"Not worried about death."
"You know what I mean."
    She laughs lightly. "Mhm."
I jump from the building and slow time. She takes run towards the humans. I take drop into the hole leading to the hive.
First thing I notice. Hell hounds. Of course I'm already circled. I wish I could slow them but they're immune to that.
Taking Sekia quickly. They all lunge at me. Can't duck because they'll still manage to get me. I know I can't die with this spell Ninfa did. But a bite still hurts and has a small effect on me.
I teleport off to the side and they all collide in the jump. As they recover, or try to, I take off their heads. Another thing I hate about hell hounds is they don't burn like the demons do. I mean, no other monster burns like demons, but still is annoying cause it means I have to burn the bodies.
Walking out into the center room. The sight. Thousands, maybe, of just dead humans.
A table stacked. Buckets filled with blood for what I assume to be vampires or maybe something else. Too much happening all in one room. I'm a little worried to see the others.
I go off and take out each monster. The imps. The giants. The demons. The goblins. The...babies.
And to each room it seems more and more packed. It's like they're gathering for something. It worries me a bit because there are just way too many.
I'm actually breaking a sweat from working so hard to just get everyone downed.
"Need a little help?"
I turn to her and smile to her. "Yeah, love. That would be nice."
I make sure I had gotten all the children and baby monsters before she came down, because I know she would have come to help.
"There are so many."
I wipe the sweat from my brow before continuing. Only about 10 rooms and each hive holds at least 20. I don't know who builds these things but somehow they're built.
It takes us a little bit before we finish. As I resume the time, all bodies drop to the ground. It's funny.
"So. Clean up is going to be a bitch."
"Joel. Ask Luke and his guys to come help clean up."
A few moments later Luke walks in. Of course his men are watching me like a hawk. I hate it.
We all gather the bodies in the center of the hive and light a fire. The bodies take fire quickly. It almost beautiful to watch.
All but Ninfa and I leave. She stays behind to make sure I don't over use my magic, drain my energy and can't get out. I cloak the hive and block any entrance before we leave.
I avoid Luke's men by taking flight. I can't handle them and their stares. I can see hatred in their eyes towards me. I haven't done anything but help people, so if I had wronged them, I would know how.
She takes my hand and we follow the moon over the oceans.
"You're good. You're not what they see you as."
"I know.. It's just frustrating but I wouldn't make comment to their faces."
"You're good, Val."
"I try."
"Guys, there's been like a vampire attack. Someone caught it on camera. It's all over the news."
"Fuck." I sigh. "What can we do?"
"I've taken the video down from every where. Now it's just people making theories."
"I wish I could just tell them what's going on. They should know that they sleep houses away from their nightmares. But I also want to protect us all."
"We're doing the best we can, Val."
"I know. I know."
We follow the moon and wait for Joel to direct us to work. Ninfa pulls away and begins flying away.
"Nin?"
I follow but she doesn't respond. I find our path is lead to a hospital. I watch through a window, invisible, as she goes invisible and goes in.
A child. A sick child. A parent, crying for their child. It's sad.
She kisses the forehead of the child and a noticeable change happens to the monitor. The beats of his heart becomes normal. His breathing improves and she heals him.
In a moment, she takes my hand again. I'm in shock, sort of. I know she does this. But to see it. To witness. It's something completely different from stories.
Her gifts are beautiful. She's so light and is what lights my world... who makes me light.
She kisses my cheek to get my attention. As I look to her, she smiles.
"You're so amazing, Ninfa. You know?"
"I don't really think that's classified as amazing."
    I laugh lightly. "You're a hero, love."
Her hand lightly squeezes mine. I love these small moments where it's just us, trapped in one another's eyes. The holding hands. The small kisses. They all make my heart race.
We start our flight back home. Joel can't find any other big problems to take care of. And she's not getting any prayers for help, except the one for that little boy. Better to head home than to waste time on nothing.
As we land, she climbs on my back when my wings are gone. She's so cute. We hand the equipment to Joel and head off to our room.
"Shower?"
"Oh fuck yes." I let out happily. "I was overheating from all the work."
She laughs and kisses the back of my neck. She jumps off of me and heads into the bathroom. I follow her and undress as she gets the water ready.
"Watching an angel save is much different than hearing stories. You're truly mystical."
   She laughs at me. "Suuuuuure."
I climb in the shower and she does too. Her response made me slightly sad because it seems as if she doesn't believe in herself. Or she's not taking the credit where credit is due. I guess I can't really complain on that because I do it too.
But I mean it... "I'm serious."
"I haven't really healed in a while. It feels good to have done it again." Her smile to the topic is just so bright.
"Why don't you make a little time at night's to do it? It's not like the rest of the world can't wait 10 seconds for you to be a hero in other ways."
She hovers to my level once I rinse off. Her legs wrap around my waist and I hold her tightly.
"If I were to do that, you'd have to tag along and after a while that can come off to be boring. That's why angels in heaven are always playing video games."
"I'll tag along. It won't be boring." I smile.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course. Also, can you game?"
"Yes. If I wanted to."
"Hm. Going to have to get a system and play. Sounds fun."
She leans in and whispers.... "I know what else sounds fun." And then bites my ear.
"That would be fun, yeah."
"Do you not want to?" She lets go and speaks.
"Not in the shower. Not this time, anyway."
She drops down and is in blush. She's so cute. I swear she's adorable.
She turns off the shower and I'm dragged out.
"Eager?"
"Maybe."
I laugh lightly. "I wouldn't deny you though."
"I know."
Dried off partially. Dragged again to the bed. I love when she's this eager.
She practically throws me on the bed. I laugh to it and she climbs on me.
"Minx is really eager."
"It seems that way doesn't it?"
"A little."
"What if I just wanted to cuddle? I could be eager to cuddle."
"I'm here for whatever you wish."
She leans down and kisses me. The kiss is slow. Addicting. And making me want more, her doing on purpose. To tease me.
But these kisses. These kisses really only lead to one thing. And I'm all for giving her all I can.
