Evan didn't like parties. 

It was one of the laws of the universe. Don't feed the plants. They sky is blue. Evan doesn't like parties. So you can imagine his reaction when he's handed an invitation from the castle. 

It had started out like any other day. Evan woke up and as per usual opened his stand at the market. Also as usual no one came. 

"Hello Hansen!" a familiar voice greeted 

"JARED!" Evan shrieked nearly dropping the flower pots he was putting away. 

He turned around, to see his (family) friend Jared Kleinman smugly leaning over the counter. He smirked as Evan shuffled over 

"What? Not even a 'Good Morning good sire? What can I do for you?' geez so much for costumer service..."

"What do you want Jared? If you're not here for flowers then leave" Evan snapped 

Jared lifted up his hands "Take it easy Evan! I'm just here to deliver this-" he said handing Evan an invitation. He turned around to go away when suddenly Evan shouted 

"Jared WAIT!"

Jared turned back and leaned over the counter. Evan had opened the royal seal off the invitation, his eyes wide and his hands were trembling as he read the invitation 

"This-this-THIS-it's an invitation to-to-holy-"

"The royal ball? Yup" Jared finished nodding 

Evan reread the letter over and over again. "Jared-there-there-MUST be a mistake!"

Jared laughed and pulled out an outfit fancier than Evan had owned in his life. "No it isn't" he signsonged

The Royal Majesties King Larry and Queen Cynthia cordially invite all residents of the kingdom to attend a royal ball in search for a fiancé to Prince Connor and Princess Zoe. Formal attire shall be provided along with the invitation. 

Evan fidgeted nervously in his suit. His slicked back hair was already returning to it's usual curliness. He stood in the corner of the massive gold ballroom as everyone danced around him. He sighed and leaned against the wall, closing his eyes hoping to make the music disappear. 

Heidi had been ecstatic when Evan received the invitation and helped her son dress appropriately.  She said he looked stunning, but absolutely no one had stepped up to him. Jared had left him and was hitting up guys. 

"Hi!!" someone suddenly greeted 

Evan whirled around to see a girl with dark skin in a pink dress with glasses smiling widely at him. He nervously waved back 

"I'm Duchess Alana Beck! But you can just call me Alana! And I was wondering...why are you all alone?" she asked 

Evan laughed nervously and looked down at his shoes. "Um-I-I-I-don't know?"

Alana's face drooped for a second before lighting up again "I know! How'd you like to meet my fiancé?" 

Evan nodded, he barely knew the girl but anything beat standing alone. Alan grabbed his arm and dragged him through crowds of people towards two thrones. Evan's eyes widened but it was too late 

"Oooh Zoe!" Alana called 

He stared in horror as Princess Zoe stood up from her chair, the bored look on her face disappearing at the sight of Alana. She wore a long purple gown and gold belt, a gold tiara sat atop her head.
