Seventh Grade.

It had all started August twenty, second week of school, seventh grade.

Jeremy was (as typical) running late. His Mom had forgotten to wake him up before leaving for work and his Dad was out of town. He sped down the sidewalk, his backpack flying as he ran through the glass doors.

Students stared and whispered as it dawned on him that he still had time before class. Taking a short deep breath he continued towards his locker, avoiding eye contact at all costs

"Oh-M-G Anne have you SEEN her?"

Jeremy paused when sorting through his locker, stopping to eavesdrop

"Yes! Ugh-I have technology with her!"

"She's so weird right?"

"Totally. In class she kicked the computer right off the desk from showing us her high kick!"

Jenna smirked and took out her phone "Go on"

"Yeah I think she kicked some kid-Richard or something. He got a nosebleed and the computer broke in half"

Jeremy yelped as Jenna let out a laugh and slammed his locker shut. She gasped as she tried to catch her breath

"Yo! J-J-J-J-Jeremy! Do you know the new girl?" Jenna inquired

Jeremy rolled his eyes at the nickname "W-who?"

Giggling at his stutter Jenna answered "You know! That new weird girl who just came here from-somewhere. Any news?"

To Jeremy's relief the bell rang just in time "S-S-Sorry!! N-No-c-comentary!" He shouted darting to his first class

His first few classes were a blur of taking notes and teachers talking. Till finally came the dreaded gym class. Last period before school ended for good, the period Jeremy dreaded with a passion.

Jeremy wasn't exactly athletic, with his extremely lanky legs, bony structure and impressive clumsiness gym was not his strong suit. Especially not this week, this week was swim week. He nervously walked around the locker room, looking for an empty space to change or an open stall

"Jeremy!" a familiar voice shouted in greeting

His face broke into a huge smile "Micheal!!" he shouted

Micheal waved as Jeremy walked into the empty storage closet, which had become Micheal's personal gym locker over the past year. It had started as a prank of hiding his clothes but Micheal turned it into their little hideout. They laughed and did their usual handshake

"You-um-do-do you mind if I change here?"

Micheal chuckled and punched his elbow "Dork. Sure"

Jeremy smiled and Micheal struck up a conversation as if getting changed in a storage closet with your best friend was totally normal.

"Where were you this morning? I waited but you never showed up"

"Heh-sorry about that-Mom forgot to wake me up AGAIN. Also Jenna."

Micheal nodded "I feel ya. Also! Heard about this new girl?"

"Um-no?"

"MAN! I think she broke Richard's nose or somethin! Seriously dude that girl can high kick!"

Micheal exclaimed kicking up his own leg and in the process knocking over rolls of toliet paper. Jeremy laughed, picking up his clothes and opening the door.

"Um-Hello-?" a small voice squeaked

Jeremy and Micheal stared as a girl stood outside the door, nervously handling her bag. Jeremy felt his face turn pink as he stared down at her, seemingly fascinated. Micheal broke the silence

"Hey dudette--do you need to change?"

The girl's face lit up and Jeremy thought he might faint "Yes! Um-uh-"

Micheal chuckled and held open the door, the girl squealed in excitement and slammed the door. Both boys stared blankly at the door before the door opened again

"Right! Sorry-my name's Christine! Christine Conigula! Th-thanks!"

Micheal gave her finger guns "Micheal" he poked Jeremy's shoulder who was frozen in shock "That's Jeremy"

Christine giggled and closed the door for a final time. Micheal stared at Jeremy, who stared lovestruck at the closed door.

"Christineeeeeeee.....
