(Rey's Point of View)
I relieved Chewie earlier but he’s back now and everyone in the Falcon’s shuffling around. They’re all preparing for our approach to the planet. Poe comes to the cockpit as curious as ever. He leans on Chewbacca’s chair and looks towards me.
“So what’s this planet called again?”
“It’s called Quadrant 9” I answer him.
“Huh, never heard of it.”
“Well we are on the Outer Rim, there are a lot of unfamiliar planets out here.”
“Yeah, that’s an interesting name too. Anyway I’ll get back to taking inventory of the guns, do either of you have any on you?”
“Ooarrrraaoaohh” Chewie responds pointing to his Bowcaster.
“I don’t have one.”
“Alright thanks.” He makes a mark on his list for Chewie’s gun and leaves.
About a half hour later we are out of lightspeed and slowly entering the mysterious planet’s atmosphere. The whole planet is a orange color with blue blotches scattered about. They could be water but I'm not sure. We break through the atmosphere and all of a sudden we can’t see a thing. Strong gusts of wind hit us and the Falcon gets thrown up and down a bit. We slowly keep on our approach towards the ground and the fog clears up just enough to see where we’re going. All of a sudden the clouds go away and tall buildings appear.
“A city.” I say aloud and my eyes begin to glow. “It’s amazing. I’ve never seen this many buildings in one place before.”
Chewie ignores my awe and flies us to the edge of it for a roomy spot to land. Once he sees a convenient location he sets us down. I haven’t really mastered the landing of the ship yet so he does it for me most of the time.
I turn off the ship and leave the cockpit to go to everyone else. They’re all gathered in the lounge waiting. I walk in and take a deep breath.
“Well what’s the plan to get settled?” I ask Leia.
“We should all find somewhere to stay but we want to blend in so spread out. Everyone get in small groups and stay together that way. It is a large city so there will a variety of places to stay. Trade housing for work. To build the Resistance back up we need to start from scratch. I may not see some of you for a while so stay safe and may the force be with you.” She ends her speech and the shuttle door opens.
It lowers slowly and surprisingly it’s just as dark outside as it is inside the Falcon. Everyone leaves at different times so we don’t look like we all came at once. I decide to gather a few things in a pack before leaving.
“Hey I’d like us to stick together if you think that’s a good idea?” Finn asks on my way to my room.
“Yeah I don’t want to go out there alone, that’s for sure. I’ll just go grab my things and we can be on our way.” I say with a smile.
“Ok awesome.” He says beaming.
When I get in my room I find a pack and put some clothes in it. Then I head to the infirmary and quick grab my Jedi texts. I shove them into my bag and go back to the door out. When I get there I see Finn and a wounded Rose. We’re one of the last ones leaving. Poe, Chewbacca, and Leia left together and there is only one group left here.
“Alright let’s head out.” I say and smile to Rose and then realize she hasn’t met me yet.
“Hi, I’m Rey.”
“I’ve heard all about you, you saved the Resistance. You blew up Starkiller Base!”
“From what I’ve heard you saved the Resistance too.”I say with a weak smile. I’m still getting used to everyone knowing me before I know them.
