(Rey's Point of View)

Once I finally emerge from my room I seek out Leia. I pass Ben and Chewie playing a game of holochess and I'm slightly taken back. I don’t let it show, but I didn't expect such a quick reunion between the two of them. Not that I doubted they would make peace eventually, I just assumed it would be more gradual. I am overjoyed by the result nonetheless. I smile at them and Chewie asks if I want to join in. I pass still looking for Leia. She has to be around here somewhere. I just want to know what our next step is against the First Order. She must have something in mind.

"Have either of you seen Leia?"

"Awwrrr raaaaggghh awwrhh." Chewie suggests.

"Outside?" We've landed?

"Yeah you might want to talk to Poe about that. We haven't gone out yet but come get us if you need anything." Ben said nonchalantly.

He almost sounds part of the team, like he finally belongs here. Everything feels the way it should until I hear a door open. Rose walks out and spots Ben. He looks up at her and she gives him the worst look she can conjure then storms off the boarding ramp. Ben looks down defeated and I suddenly feel naive for thinking this could go so smoothly. I follow her outside. Not so much because I want to confront her about what just happened but mostly because Chewie said I might find Leia out there.

I step off the ramp into a jungle. Perhaps jungle isn't the word to describe it, but there is nothing in sight but trees. It seems somehow we've managed to land in the only open spot in the middle of a forest. Rose storms off into the trees. I don't try to stop her, nothing I can say will calm her down surely. She knows I brought Ben back and whatever she's mad about, I can't take back. Instead I walk over to Leia and find her arguing with Poe.

"Everything okay?" I ask, knowing the answer already.

"Why don't you ask Poe?" Leia suggests sarcastically.

I look to Poe for an explanation but he just scoffs. "Poe took the liberty of landing the Falcon on an unnamed planet, in the middle of the Mid Rim, without consulting me first." Leia spoke for him.

I open my mouth to speak but Poe beats me to it, "We had to get out of the sky. Landing here is what they'll least expect."

"They'll be sending scouting droids to every planet within the Mid Rim and the Deep Core!" Leia counters.

"Not this one. How could they find us if we don't even know where we are!"

"That's the problem Poe."

"I don't see anything wrong with laying low for a couple days." I speak up.

Almost as if I scared them into remembering I was still here they both look at me shocked. Poe smiles as if he's won. I feel bad for taking a side but I don't like seeing them argue. And if we can't stay here then where? We can't go back to Quadrant 9. First Order troopers will recognize me for stealing that transport. There are no resistance bases left to occupy, and we have little to no allies left. Poe might not have thought this through but he made the right call, this place is our best shot for now.

"Alright." Is all Leia has left to say, so she starts back towards the ship.

"Stubborn woman." Poe brings his hand to his face and pinches the bridge of his nose.

"If we're going to be here for a while then we should probably set up camp. The Falcon could use some fine tuning and we need food." I suggest to Poe.

"Good idea. I'll grab a pack and gather some supplies, maybe scout the area."

"I'll grab Ben and Chewie and start building camp. Oh and could you find Rose while you're at it, she stormed off into those trees over there?" I point in the direction I saw her go.

"Sure. Uh… hey Rey?" I look up to him, "Are you sure we can trust him?"

"Who?"

"Kylo. He doesn’t exactly have an honorable past."

"Do any of us?" I retort and raise an eyebrow.

"Fair point but you know what I mean."

I roll my eyes, "He's with us Poe. Keep an eye on him if you want but he's not going to do anything. May I remind you that he left the First Order?"

"The First Order betrayed him, what other choice did he have? We were his last resort."

My lips part to get the last word but I let him have it instead. There's no arguing what I already know. Ben has changed, Poe just doesn't have the capacity to see it yet. And then I remember something my mother used to tell me. I have no memories of her yet I can hear her voice within me now. So I repeat the only thing I remember about my mother to Poe.

"Actions speak louder than words."

"Yes they do." He replies and leaves me to find a backpack.
