Chapter 10: Something fishy

Gideon.

When I say that name my heart flutters.

After our meal together last night he insisted that he will or rather his driver will drive me home but I decline because it is too much already.

My heart is overwhelmed from all the things that is happening. Walking the streets and riding the subway will distract me from all these things.

He grudgingly accepts my decision.
I offered to clean our mess but he decline and told me someone will clean it for us.

Now it is already 12am and I am still awake. I am lying flat on my bed and all of the things that happened today is still replaying on my mind.

I don't think I can sleep toninght since I am still giddy and hype.

What will happen today? What should I do if I saw him? Should I turn away and avoid him? Or just nod like we are friends or aquaintance?

"Aaah!!!!" I shouted to release my frustration but of course I cover my face with my pillow since Scar might be sleeping already.

I don't have any clue on what to do! This is my first time in my life that I interact with my crush. I wish I have a Bestfriend who can be my confidant. Yes Scar is sort of my Bestfriend but I am so shy to ask her. She might think I am too naive since in the first place she is the one who points out to me that I have a crush to Mr. CEO..I mean Gideon.

I turn on my side because my back is numb already for lying too long.

I have no Plan since I can not think straight so I'll just wing it.
Thats it. Thats my goal to just go with it.

8:30 am the next day

I look around before I enter the building. The guards at the portal is looking at me suspiciously because I am just standing beside the door looking around if the coast is clear. If Gideon is not in sight.

After checking that he is not near in my vicinity I entered the building and scan my ID.

As usual I smiled and waved to all the 8 guards that are standing on each ID kiosk and in return they just nod at me in acknowledgement.

I arrived at the mail room without any hitch so I start my work already and accomplishing all of my backlogs yesterday if I have any. I am busy sorting and delivering all the documents that I did not notice that it is already 3pm.

I missed lunch again. Mark and Eric invited me for lunch but I refuse because I need to finish my back logs from the previous day.

As I am starting to separate the documents in each department the room phone rings.

This phone never rings. I don't think no one even knows the number here in the mail room.

I slowly approach the phone and lift the hand piece to my Ear.

"Hello?"

A voice so cold answers me.
"Why did you not take your lunch Ella?"

Shitake mushroom! Its Mr. CEO! I mean Gideon!

"Hi sir. How's your day sir?"

Distract him!

"I am fine sir. The weather is nice outside don't you think?"

I was met with silence.

"Answer my question Ella."

I can't lie. How does he know I skip lunch?
