**** This was a comment from my boo @SamanthaPeterson4, I had to repost this. It was in regards to a passage in the book and something August said in real life in the Angie Martinez interview, about not respecting a man for taking away something so precious to a woman which was her life.

Sam said in response to that:

I love when he talk about that in his interviews. it is so true. everybody have dreams and it is hard enough in our society trying to follow and protect those dreams. No woman should allow a man to crush her dreams. And no woman should love a man more than she love herself.  Stay blessed ladies. I wish you all the best. And if no one loves you in Your world...just know that I love you guys.

Even if I don't know you. I love you because you are human; a creation of God. My eternal sisters. mmmuuuaahhh ...xoxoxox

Thanks for those words Sam!

And omg, to everyone who commented about Chapter 23, thank you guys so much!!!! Y'all are amazing!

Now to the story. Amb's pool and pavilion in the M/M. ****

AMBER P.O.V. –

“Baby.” I called out walking up the stairs.

I opened the door to the bedroom. I found the bed was made, but August wasn’t in there.

“Babe?” I stuck my head in the bathroom. Only his tooth brush and face cloth were left on the sink.

Did he leave? He was just asleep in the bed while I was downstairs doing laundry. That’s one thing about being in the basement at my house. You can’t hear anything upstairs, so if he had left, I wouldn’t have known.

I grabbed my phone from off the dresser in my room, and checked it for missed calls and texts. There weren’t any.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen. He had obviously been in there. The bacon, waffles, eggs, grits and fruit I had prepared, had been rummaged through. Signaling he made a plate.

Maybe he was in the living room. I went into the living room, but got nothing.

A cool breeze caused my strapless light green maxi dress to blow in the wind, immediately turning my attention to the slightly open glass doors that led to the pool.

I looked through the glass to see him under the pavilion, shirtless, in his black basketball shorts, eating breakfast and reading a small book.

I opened the doors, making sure to close them behind me, and walked over to him.

“Good morning baby.” He popped a small piece of pine-apple in his mouth, stood up and pecked my lips.

“Baby, you gotta remember to close the doors all the way. I don’t want bugs in the house.”

“My bad. I had this plate and cup in my hand, and didn’t want to drop nothing.” He sat back down.

“I’m feeling that dress. It got my babies sitting right.” He smirked looking me up and down taking a sip of his grape juice.

“Ha-ha.” I said not amused at his reference to my breast.

He picked up his plate, crossed his legs men-style, and started eating.

“What’s wrong baby?” He said in between chewing. I supposed he saw me standing, not taking a seat and knew I had something to say.

“I was washing your clothes from yesterday and I found this in your pocket.” I held up a small dime-sized bag of weed.
