I was going to post a video with Aug from a meet and greet, where people were talking and he got upset and was like if y’all wanna talk y’all can slide. But I’m a little nicer than Aug, so I’mma keep it tactful.
It has come to my attention that some readers are not too happy with my choice of leading lady. And you being a human being are entitled to your own opinion.
However I will say this, I don’t write this story to appease your aesthetic preferences. I wrote this story and purposely chose Amber Riley, who for those that don’t know is a real powerhouse entertainer with an amazing voice. She was on Glee.
Everybody does not look like the videos girls you see on television, and 99% of the time those video-girls don’t look like that without photo-shop and make-up. Skinny does not automatically equal beautiful, and full figured doesn’t automatically equal ugly.
Everybody reading this story looks different. And I believe that literature and the media in general should reflect the world we live in. Meaning there are beautiful women of all shades and all shapes. And all those shapes and colors should be shown. It shouldn’t be one sided. (Ken did a wonderful rant on this by the way, about why are leading ladies in stories always some exotical with long wavy hair, green eyes, etc., etc.)
Amber is who I chose, because I feel she is a beautiful woman. If you don’t like it, and if you don’t feel it’s plausible that August would even entertain a relationship with her, my dear you are free to go read something that will fit your reading pleasure.
I never understand why people take a full minute out of their oh so busy schedules to bring negativity into other people’s stories. If I don’t like something, unless I find it utterly offensive, I move on to the next without even commenting. It’s not worth my time. It seems illogical to me to do so. But for you to comment and vote, only adds to this stories viewership count. Why? Why? Do that to something you don’t like?
If you prefer a story with an Insta-Model as a leading lady, there are plenty to choose from. But as for me and mine, I’m giving credit to the beautiful women that the world overlooks.
Maybe the problem you have is not with Amber, but with the young lady starring you back in the mirror. And the tragedy of that my love, is that young girl starring you back is beautiful, but unfortunately because you don’t look like what society or Instagram tells you should look like, you fail to see that.
You shouldn’t need 3,000 likes and men drooling over you to know you are beautiful. That’s an inside job my love. And keeping it 100 I don’t know what world the negative people live in, but I live in a real world. ( I stole that line from August but the way lol). And I have seen beautiful full-figured women, with men that look like Boris Kodjoe. I have seen women who the world would deem “ugly”, with fine men.
People rag on Tiny talking about how she looks, but she got her TI! While these other chicks are wishing. (yeah I know there was a joke about her in here but I love her in real life).
There is an actor named Jesse Williams who plays on Grey’s anatomy who is absolutely gorgeous and people rag on is wife, but guess who got the ring? Not the haters.
People rag on Chrissy, but she got her Jim Jones.
The world is bigger than your television screen and magazines my love.

I sincerely love all you guys from the bottom of my heart. Know that you are beautiful no matter what size or skin tone you are. And I’ve heard some people say some authors are mean when they reach out to them, never be afraid to reach out to me! I try to show everybody love.
