Badminton.

You guys would have probably heard of this sport by now, and would have even played badminton once or twice at least, because:-

1) It is the least sexist game that has ever been invented and played everywhere, that you really can't assume one's capabilities by just saying "he's a boy so he would play better."

2) It could possibly be the only game where you could sustain the least amount of injuries from your opponents; because you are more prone to injure yourself.

Now these were my thoughts whenever i played with my friends, bear in mind these guys play better than me, like wayyyyy better.

Shreya and Arya both go for badminton practice and have competed in district level competitions, of which the latter won the tournament against the former. Rivalries aside they were best friends as i have mentioned before, "Sisters from different mothers."

Talking about Akaash, well he is quite decent but in the previous few months, i quit playing badminton and I was at home 24/7 which made my game a little rusty, because of which even he has become better than me at the game!

Now, our school's schedule of education was 5 days of rigorous study and the other 2 days i.e. Saturday and Sunday, they gave us holidays.

*Though Sunday was a mandatory holiday world-wide..*

So one day after school on a Friday while we four got down from the bus, Shreya proposed that we should play badminton by 6pm in the society turf, i was the first to agree with the plan thinking it would be healthy for the group to be together after a whole week of couples-drama that they have with their second-half. I thought it would be just us four playing, but Arya took Shreya aside and whispered something to her ear to which she chuckled and nodded, i didn't pay much attention to that, because i was too hyped over the plan and didn't even think that there could be a side-plan made by these girls.

Nevertheless the plan was made and i went home to check if i still had my badminton racket. Now remember Rachel? My sister, yeah she too loved to play badminton and she always wanted to play like my dad does. You see my dad plays very well and has won quite a lot of trophies and medals to his name for his talent, i too looked up to him and learned how to master the sport and i did fair well against my foes but i lacked his confidence.

She said that i played like my dad and i should try playing the sport more often and go for coaching classes, but introvert me thought otherwise.

So yeah the time was 5:45pm and i was ready! That's when i started to think, why would these girls make such a plan all of a sudden?

Subconscious Mind:-"True that...Sounds fishy..and smells fishy too.."

Me:-"What?"

Subconscious Mind:-"What? Can't you smell it?"

Me:-"Mom! Are you making fish fry?"

*voice from a distant*

"YEAH! And it's your favourite one, the Pomfret !"

Me:-"Oh goody!"

So i headed downstairs and waited for the others. While i waited i thought why not just put up the net, it will save us loads of time! Soon the net was up and by the time i put the last hook across the turf, i see Shreya pacing towards the ground.

Shreya:-"Well, well, well! Good to see we have someone who can come on time!"

Me:-"Haha, I know i am quite punctual. Let's start the game? 21 points or 11?"
