*Home*
*sound of the television echoes around the room, seems like a Sunday night football game*
A voice from a distance," Do you think that this shirt in his cupboard is his? Looks lovely but I don't remember buying him one this good."
*sound of a beer bottle opening*
"Might be one of my shirts that I never wore...why do you care so much Anitha?"
*mom walks into the hall with a pile of clothes to fold*
"Because he's our son! I just don't want it to be his.."
*Dad turns he head from the television and faces mom*
"And why is that a concern now?"
She stops folding and looks up to dad,"Because the shirt has a few....I don't know...red stains...and I hope they're not what it seems to me."
*He turns his head back to the television*
"Oh you and your petty worries, how come you end up with such bizarre assumptions from a stain? It might just be some drink that might have been spilled on him by mistake."
"Pray that it may be that...", she picks up the clothes and leaves the hall to keep them in John's room upstairs.
*The time is 8:45 pm, it's almost halftime for the game and Anitha is cooking dinner*
"Love, any idea on how long that after party lasts for the kids? It's almost 9 pm!", said dad from the living room.
"Rachel said she'd be back by 10 pm, I don't know about John because he's always the last person to go home so expect him before dawn...", she said from the kitchen.
*laughs*
"That boy is not even 18 and he's out and about till dawn? Do you reckon we let him off the hook too many times?", dad said.
*smirks*
"He has his days, we should actually be grateful that he steps out of the house instead of sitting in here and doing nothing, and he's been out for quite a long time ever since he became close to Natalie... suspicious?", she says.
"Bah! Don't be silly, as much as it's sad to say he needs grow balls to speak to a girl!", dad laughs.
"Mathew! He's your son!", she laughs too.
"Well, well...Anyways, I just got a call from my brother Jeremy, he says he's in town and would love to drop by to say hello!", he says with delight.
"Jeremy! Oh it's been so long since we've seen him, and the kids especially john hasn't seen him since he was in 2nd grade!", she replies.
"Oh it shall be a surprise for the two, he'll be here by midnight.", dad added.
"Oh god, tonight?! Mathew I didn't cook for 6 people...", she complained.
"Alright, I'll rush to the store and get some curry and beer.", he said and got up from the couch.
"Good, and get something in chicken, it will go as a variety with my fried fish and fish curry.", mom replied.
"Ugh...fine.", said dad as he picked his overcoat, keys, shoes and started for the store.
*In a club close to the wedding hall*
The music is loud, the lighting is quite dizzy and I couldn't figure out faces from a distance...yeah I was drunk. I didn't ask for all my cousins to be elder than me and be intimidating at the same time to force me to drink...I mean I didn't resist either so it wasn't anyone's fault.
