Happy Father's Day!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Misha~ time to wake up sleepyhead~]

Misha quickly got up and made the bed. While by the bedside he looked around realizing he couldn't recognized where he was. It took him a moment to remember what was going on and he relaxed.

Wyatt was shocked and when he took a second to think about it he wished he could bang his head on the wall at his stupidity.

[Don't worry Misha there's nobody here but you and me. If you want you can sleep a little longer.]

Misha shook himself out of a daze: "N-No. I'm alright. We're in an apocalypse world after all I shouldn't be sleeping when there's still a lot of things to do."

Wyatt looked at him concerned but Misha already headed over to the bathroom so there's was nothing more he could do.

[While you were asleep groups of people started to enter the town. Some approached this place but once they saw all the traps and fortifications you made they turned around.]

Misha: "Why didn't you wake me up if there were people approaching?!"

[It's because they seemed too exhausted from the travel here to try to get in. I've tracked where everyone who arrived went. Most are content with the places they chose.] (I also couldn't bear to wake you up when it looked like you have a hard time sleeping.)

Misha: "In other words, there are some people who are going to try to take this place by force am I right?"

[You aren't wrong. Although it's just the second day, a majority of people will have experienced the ruthlessness of other humans. Once they see you are only a seemingly weak child holding onto a treasure they will surely try to take it from you.]

Misha looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He clad his fist in electricity and shattered the mirror. However the shards stayed afloat, sparks emitting all around.

Misha: "A weak child huh."

[The first two groups are planning to come in the afternoon and tonight at sunset. They look intimidating but they are weak. Your traps will be able to stop them. It's a group heading to this town that concerns me.]

Misha: "Are they strong?"

[Yes. But it's only a select few in the group has an ability. The leader especially has awakened an ability almost as strong as your own.]

Misha: "I thought you said all humans were given an ability. And is it really surprising for someone to have an ability as strong as mine?"

[I did say that humanity was given an ability but not all of them are awakened. Depending on the person they have different requirements to awaken them. The ability you have is also supported by me. Your ability is related to your mental fortitude and since I'm in your head I help you coordinate the electricity and amplify the lightning. Take the shards you are levitating. A normal electricity user is only able to levitate one shard but you are able to levitate an infinite amount because I'm concentrating on the others based on the intentions I read in your thoughts.]

Misha closed his eyes in frustration: "I see. So this isn't really my strength then."

[...It is your strength. I am your system just as you are my host. We are tied by an incredibly strong bond and I need you just as you need me.]

Misha: "You said you retired. That means you didn't really need me."

[I don't need you in a way a normal system would. But I was lonely watching the younger systems with their hosts. I already have enough energy and power I'll ever need. If you really can't understand it just think of it as being my emotional support.]

Misha sank into his thoughts. Wyatt wanted Misha to think about it and decide for himself. Although he was anxious he refrained from reading Misha's mind.

Misha let out a breath: "Alright I'll count on you for now. But if you betray me I'll cancel the binding even if I have to tear my souls to shreds. I won't be the one regretting it if this falls through."

[Don't worry you won't regret it.]

"Aaaaah!"

"What the-"

Following the scream there was an array of clashes.

[Don't worry about them. These guys aren't going to get past the first floor. What are you going to do today?]

Misha: "I think I'll find a boat for my escape route but I don't want to leave the base just yet. Even if you say nobody will be able to get through the traps today I don't feel comfortable having hostile strangers in my base. I'll finish my bomb first."

Misha worked on the bomb in a short matter of time. He wanted to test the strength of his creation. He glanced outside the window and saw a group of people regrouping to try to get inside once again. An idea sprang in his mind. He took note of the wind and casually toss the little ball out the window.

The bomb exploded just as they were about to rush the building. The blast caught the initial chargers and knocked them back. They didn't die but sustained severe injury.

The man who seemed to be the leader screamed in the direction of the building: "This is too much! We have a lot of people here who need shelter. We should be helping our fellow man while we are in these troubled times. I'll apologize for trying to invade your home, I was just so desperate to provide for these poor comrades who have put their faith in me. Please just let us in so we can care for the wounded!"

Another object flew from the window. The group was forced to flee as the man shouted obscenities and Misha was an unreasonable squatter and would be punished in the end.

Misha sneered as their backs as they almost left their injured "comrades" behind before forcing the obviously weaker members to drag them back.

Misha: "Wyatt, what's the reactions from the people watching?"

[All the leaders in the other groups know how hypocritical the man is to be spouting all those self-righteous lines after they couldn't rob you of this base. It's only the naïve people who are being protected by those leaders that are making a fuss but I predict as long as they aren't stupid enough to cause trouble for them, I doubt the leaders will dispel their belief.]

Misha: "Good. There are people like that no matter what world we go to. They only see things in a way that best fits them regardless of the holes in their logic. Even if you try to convince them otherwise they will only attack you instead."

Misha paused as his face was overthrown by shadows. His expression was gloomy as he was lost in his thoughts.

[MISHA! Start looking for the boat!]

Misha was startled out of his memories: "Huh? Oh...right"

[Although the past is important it's merely a platform to the present and future. I want you to focus on the present so you can find your future happiness. Don't give up hope I know it's somewhere in this world, it's just waiting for you to find it.]

Misha sarcastically replies back: "Yeah maybe I'll find happiness in a boat."
