Satisfied seeing Misha completely relaxed underneath the covers, Kai informed him he would be outside to deal with the supplies the group designated for Misha. He remembered the stash of chocolate fudge cookies they were miraculously able to find in an annihilated group's headquarters. Based on Misha's partiality to sweets, he knew his lover would enjoy munching on the treats while he got ready to invent new traps for the front yard.
Misha watched Kai linger around before he left through half lidded eyes. He was enjoying the relieved sensations his body's never felt before thanks to that man's ministrations. Preparing to get up to belatedly start his day, his eyes were drawn to the window facing the stunning view of the ocean. He stared at the sea on multiple occasions while living in the seaside resort but unlike all the other times, he saw a darken shape floating just above the horizon.
Curious at the new sight he slowly shuffled out of bed as he approached the window, squinting his eyes to try to get a better look. Even from a distance the eerie glow of the unidentified object chilled him to his very bones. His palms broke out in a cold sweat and he felt as though ice was running down his back. He tried to pry his eyes away but he was in a trance and couldn't rip his gaze away. His breathing hitched and his scream was stuck in his throat, choking him.
Suddenly he was looking at the bed he just vacated. Relieved he didn't have to see the disturbing sight he gasped as he could finally breath normally again.
Kai: "Are you okay?"
Hearing the concerned voice behind him, he tried to bring his hand to his chest only to feel arms circled protectively around him. He needed a moment to calm down before he could respond.
Misha: "I...I'm okay"
He whirled around to face Kai while still trying to get more air to his lungs to calm the adrenaline rushing through his veins.
Misha whispered in dread: "Did you see it?"
Kai: "There's nothing in the water but I could feel your terror through our connection and was able to take a glimpse. Don't worry it's gone."
Misha: "What was it?"
Misha cautiously peeked around Kai to look at the window again. He really didn't want to see it again but he couldn't rest assure knowing it could still possibly be out there.
Kai hesitated to speak.
Kai: "...An omen."
Kai tightened his hold on Misha and petted the back of his head. He buried his nose in his hair and closed his eyes. His brows never relaxed from their wrinkled positon between his eyes.
[MISHA!!!!!!!]
The cry was so loud Misha instinctively covered his ears but it didn't help as the sound came from within.
Misha: "Wyatt, I haven't heard from you in a while but you don't have to be so loud."
[Misha are you okay?! Was it Kai? Just wait until I get my hands on him, I'll feed him piece by piece to the aberrants and dangle his naked soul off the cliff as a warning to anyone else who even develops half a thought in trying to hurt you!]
Kai: "How rude, I would never hurt him and even in the one in a million chance I somehow unintentionally did, I would already be hanging off that cliff before you could string me down there."
Misha frowned: "Don't talk about that. I don't like the idea of you being hurt. You too Wyatt stop joking around like that. It's not funny."
Kai: "Don't mind him, he's just jealous."
Misha: "Jealous?"
[I'm not jealous. Just a little frustrated. I woke up as soon as I felt some of your fear but even when I was trying to call you, you couldn't hear me.]
Kai: "Like I said, he's jealous. He could only yell from inside your head to try to wake you. He's jealous he can't hug you, ruffle your hair, tuck you in at night, nor make you food. So I don't mind if he jokes, I would be sad if I wasn't able to do these things for you too."
[...]
Misha wished he could see Wyatt's expression. He could vaguely feel his complex emotions and often wondered what face to express when his own emotions were a mess.
Misha: "its okay, Wyatt. Even if you can't interact with me other than your voice I can feel how much you care about me."
[Misha...]
Wyatt was touched. Misha rarely expressed such affectionate emotions directly. Or at least without being embarrassed right aft-
(Ah! Spoke too soon.)
Misha didn't want to show how affected he was after saying such a cheesy gushy line but the more he thought about it the more he couldn't take it. He pushed his face into Kai's shirt and tried to bury the memory and the shame away. It didn't work.
Misha could hear them laughing at him. In anger he stole Kai's shirt right off his body and walked bowlegged to the bathroom. Kai tried to help support his weight but Misha wasn't having it when he could still hear him laughing.
Misha: "Didn't you say you were going to get me something good? Go on. And Wyatt, you can leave for now as well. I'm going to take a shower and need my privacy. Hmph."
Slamming the door with a little more force than needed, Kai was left shaking his head and grabbed a new shirt before heading out again. He knew Misha wasn't really angry so didn't take his little tantrum to heart. Rather, he thought it was endearing and proof that Misha was opening up to him. He wouldn't show such a childish side to him otherwise.
On the other hand Misha was still fuming. Standing under the showerhead he gradually cooled down and his thoughts strayed back to what he saw on the water. He couldn't completely remember what he saw, which was strange because he remembered everything he's seen and when. It was as if a layer of fog was obscuring that particular memory and forcibly scattering his thoughts from forming a complete picture. When he tried to reform his memory he could feel the beginning symptoms of his headaches starting up. Afraid of aggravating the pain he quickly finished his shower and left. Thinking about it wasn't going to help him and he suspected Kai had an idea of what it was. Since he didn't tell him despite how worried he was that Misha saw it, he believed it would be better to not know. He learned back in the orphanage that knowledge could be more dangerous than the power it wielded.
Just as he was heading to the kitchen to find Kai, the ground below his feet tremored leaving him frantically trying to find something to hold to keep himself upright. At first he thought his headache was making him dizzy but the shaking soon relented and he could see from the fallen room numbers and broken frames littering the floor that it was the building shaking and not him.
[Misha! Quickly find Kai! You're in danger!]
Before he could find his bearings an electric field was surrounding him and Wyatt was shouting at him. Crashes and screams could be heard echoing from the other rooms. He felt for his usual weapons but came up empty.
(Shit. I was in too much of a rush I didn't grab my weapons! I'm so stupid! Dammit what happened to being vigilant, what happened to looking over my shoulder, what happened to always preparing for the worst! Damn!)
He was confused and disorientated as he tried to navigate the halls. The erratic tremors in the building were making it hard to walk. He moved inch by inch but he wanted to get to Kai, he needed him.

Sorry guys I knew this chapter took a while even though its so short. I planned to make it longer but it got too long so I had to cut it in half. On another note the next chapter will the last chapter for this arc. I'm still unsure what the next world will be but look forward to it!
Also send me a treat~
