Chapter 19

(Y/N)'s Pov

L came through to the main room to join myself and the rest of the taskforce who were waiting.

Light wasn't here though. He had to go home and study.

L sat down on a sofa in his crouched position and turned on a microphone.

"Watari, has she said anything yet?" He said into the microphone.

"No, she hasn't spoken a word", Watari replied.

"Get me a visual of her please", L said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. And quickly".

As soon as those words left L's mouth, the camera's, displayed on the monitor in front of us, showed Misa.

All of us gasped except for L of course.

We could hear Misa's sharp breathing.

I began to shake.

'Why is she tied like this?! This is hardly fair L!' I thought, but I didn't want to say that to him. He would get angry with me!

I watched Misa struggle in her restraints.
It was painful to watch! I couldn't bear it!

"Ryuzaki! What's the meaning of this?!" The Chief asked.

"It's necessary", L replied. "Now all we need is a confession out of her. We need to know how she kills, if she knows the real Kira, and if so, who he really is".

The room went silent.

"Do what you can to make her talk, Watari", L finally said.

"Right".

'This is horrible! I know Misa is a suspect, but there is no reason for her to be tied up like this!'

"R-Ryuzaki...uh..."

"As I said, this is necessary Yuki", L knew what I was going to say.

I sigh and continue to watch, fiddling with my hair.

"Also, Mr Yagami", L began.

"Hm?"

"I will probably bring your son in for interrogation as well, so please be prepared for that", he said.

-A few days later-

"Ryuzaki! Amane has started talking now!" Watari said.

Everyone gasped, including L.

"Quickly, get me a visual and audio!" He said, jumping off his seat and rushing to the monitors.

I had never seen L run so fast! It was kinda surprising!

L jumped onto the sofa and sat in front of the cameras.

We all crowded around the cameras to see what Misa had to say.

"I...I can't take this anymore..."

My eyes widened.

"Kill me..."

Everyone gasped except L.

"Please...just kill me..."

'This is horrible! Why did L let this happen?! He pushed her to her limits!'

"Maybe this was too much for a young girl to take", Aizawa said.

"Yeah! We pushed her too far!" Matsuda said.

"R-Ryuzaki...C-Can't y-you at l-least do s-something-"

I was cut off by L pushing a button on his microphone and spoke into it.

"Amane? Can you hear me?" He asked.

"I hear you. Please...just kill me..."

"Is this because you admit to being the second Kira? Is this the reason you wish to die?" L asked.

"No! I don't know anything about the second Kira! I can't take this anymore! I'd rather be dead!"

I began to tremble.
I really didn't like this! I didn't want to see Misa this way. I think of her as a friend and to see her suffer like this causes me pain!

I feel tears come to my eyes as I keep hearing Misa beg for death.

'Hold them in (Y/N)!'

"Fine!" Misa yelled. "If you won't kill me-!"

She went to bite her tongue...!

"Stop her Watari! Don't let her bite her tongue!" L shouted.

Watari soon came to Misa with a rope of some kind and tied it around Misa's mouth to stop her from biting her tongue.

I had enough...

"R-Ryuzaki..." I walk up to him.

"Is there a problem Yuki?" He asked, turning to me.

"I-I...I'd like y-you to...to put m-me i-in c-confinement a-and t-take me off th-this i-investigation!" I manage to grab the courage to say those words.

Everyone looked at me in shock as if I spoke a language they couldn't understand. Even L.

"What are you talking about Yuki?!" Matsuda asked.

"I-I c-can't watch th-this!" I say. "M-Misa is my...my f-friend!"

L's eyes widened a little.

"Yuki..." he said as he stood up and came over to me.

As he approached me, I started crying.

"Please don't cry Yuki. It's okay", L said.

He offered to hug me, but I refused.

"It's n-not okay!" I say. "M-Misa doesn't d-deserve this! I-I understand y-you have to tie h-her up t-to in-interagate her...b-but this is g-going too f-far!"

I then began sobbing again.

"T-Take me off th-this i-investigation!" I say. "L-Lock me up!"

Everyone was genuinely shocked.

L wrapped his arms around me.

"I said I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you Yuki, and I meant it", he said.

"A-And I said th-that I wouldn't l-let m-my f-feelings get in the w-way, b-but I'm c-crying! I c-can't continue l-like this! So p-please!"

L then let me go and stared into my eyes.

"Nobody said this was going to be easy Yuki. But...If that's what you want...Let's do it".

I nod and force a sad smile to L.

"But it will be different for you Yuki", L said. "You will keep your cell phone turned on and will be involved in any very important conversations within the taskforce".

I nod in understanding.

"A-Alright then".

"Okay, so-"

L was interrupted by his phone ringing.

"Excuse me", he said as he went to answer it.

"Alright then. We'll be waiting. Okay. I understand".

And with that, L hung up.

I think I knew what was happening.

"Is...my son coming here?" The Chief asked.

L nodded.

As if on cue, the door opened and Light walked in.

"Ryuzaki, it's like what I said over the phone", he began.

"I could...be Kira".
