The Escape

Three months later
Francis's point of view
I woke up in the middle of the night to crying, I looked to Mary's side of the bed and she wasn't there, I turned to my other side and saw Mary and Kenna sitting on the chaise. Kenna was crying into Mary's shoulder. "What's going on?" I asked, Kenna started crying more. "Kenna you can go climb in my bed, I'm going to go talk to Francis in the hall." She said "Okay." Kenna wiped her tears then climbed in bed. "Mary what's going on?" I repeated. "Come here please." She pulled me into the hall. "Okay Mary your scaring me." I said "Kenna and Henry had sex three months ago and she told him she is pregnant tonight and he screamed at her then raped and beat her and told her to get an abortion." She said "Oh my God that's awful." I said "Kenna doesn't want to do that and he said it was either the baby or her." She said "Where's my father now?" I asked "Talking to the doctors I'm assuming." She said "I need to go get Bash." I said "Francis be safe, your father is sliding of the rail. I don't want him to hurt you." She said "I will be safe, go take care of Kenna." I said "I will." She said then went back in the room. I walked to Bash's room. "Bash you need to come with me." I said "Why?" He asked "It's Kenna." I said "Okay I'm coming." He said then we walked back to my room. "Oh my god! What happened?" He asked "Henry he, he raped me." Kenna said "I'm so sorry." He hugged her. "I was so scared." She cried into his shirt. "It's all over now." He held her. "I have a plan." Mary said "What is it?" Kenna asked "Bash will go with you all the way to Me and Francis's home in the valley, you will just be a noble couple traveling, you must stay in your room at all times. No one can recognize you, anyone could be reporting to Henry. We will call you back when it's safe, meaning when Henry is dead. I don't know how long you will have to stay there, Henry is clearly going mad which means he could have been poisoned so he won't be alive for much longer. We will try to come and visit but we probably won't be able to until after the baby is born." Mary said "I won't be here to see my best friend have her first baby." Kenna cried "No no no Kenna don't cry, I will be all right and once I have my child we can take He or She to see their god mother." Mary smiled "I'm going to me it's god mother?" Kenna smiled "You and Kenna will both be, your both my best friends and I couldn't choose." Mary smiled "When do I need to leave?" Kenna asked "Was my father drunk?" I asked "Yes, why?" Kenna asked "Because that means by now he has probably invited nobles and guards into drink with him and he has whores around the castle so it will be empty, we can sneak you out the front gate without any one seeing." I said "So I have to leave tonight?" Kenna asked "I'm afraid so, I can have all your belongings sent to you." Mary said "It's okay, I'm coming with you." Bash said "Oh bash." Kenna cried more. "We will send you money and everything else you need." I said "Thank you Francis, you don't need to do all this." Kenna said "Your Mary's best friend, it's the least I could do." I smiled "You two need to get going." Mary said "Okay." Kenna wiped her tears. "Here Bash you take one of Francis's capes and Kenna you take one of mine." Mary said then got two capes from out closet and gave them to them, Mary and I put on robes over our night clothes and we walked to the front gate, there were already some of the guards horses there, the only guard on duty was asleep in the tower. "I love you Kenna." Mary said "I love you too." Kenna hugged her. "Be safe. We will take care of everything else." Mary said "We will." Kenna smiled "I will make sure Henry doesn't suspect anything." I said "Thank you Francis." Kenna hugged me. "He won't be able to hurt you again." I said "You need to stay with Mary while she's giving birth, she will only have Greer to support her." Kenna said "Of course I will stay with her." I smiled. "See you soon brother." Bash hugged me. "See you soon." I smiled "Goodbye Bash." Mary smiled then hugged him. "If I die you better name your little boy after me." Bash laughed "Um we have all ready decided on Francis junior." I laughed "God no, my first baby boy will be named James the second boy can be named Sebastian I guess." She giggled "It's time for you two to you." I said, we said our final goodbyes then Kenna and bash got on a horse and rode off into the night. Mary put her head on my shoulder as we watched them, I pulled her closer to me and put my hand on her stomach. "It's gonna be okay." I said "I'm going to miss her so much." She cried into my shoulder. "It's okay sweetheart." I said leading her back inside up the stairs to our bedroom. "Do you need anything?" I asked "No I just want to go to sleep." She said "Okay baby." I said then laid down next to her, she put her head next to mine and we both closed our eyes. "Francis!" She said "What?!" I asked "The baby, it kicked." She smiled "Let me feel!" I said then put my hand on her stomach, I felt a little tap almost like someone was touching the water to see if it was warm or cold. "Oh my god!" I smiled "I know, it's not supposed to kick this early. But it is." She smiled "I love you." I kissed her "I love you too." She smiled "Well at least there was some light brought to a dark day." I smiled "Yes there was." She smiled then kissed me, we laid down in each other's embrace and drifted to sleep.
