Mary's point of view
When I woke up my bed was empty. Francis must be already up doing his kingly duties. I miss waking up in his arms. He kept me warm. I got out of bed and saw a note.
I will be in meetings all day, I can't make it to our picnic today. I'm so sorry, reschedule?
I love you, Francis
Ugh. We were supposed to take Madelyn and James on a picnic go right on the shore. It's my favorite place in France by far. They were so excited. Ugh. Maybe I can just take them? They will be so disappointed. Francis will understand, we can always go again. He won't be mad. Right? I looked down at my slowly growing stomach. I'm only a few months in so I still just have a little bump. "Hi there." I smiled rubbing my belly. I took my night gown off and put a simple but elegant dress, it was a light green with gold detailing. I left my hair down and didn't bother putting a crown on. I put green flats on then went to James's room, he was reading a book on his bed. "Good morning." I smiled "Good morning Mama." He smiled "What are you reading about?" I went over and sat on the side of his bed. "A story about brave knights." He smiled "Are there any princess's?" I smiled "Yes, but I'm skipping past that part. They kiss and it's gross." He giggled "Well one day you'll like princess's." I smiled "No, I will just be a knight forever." He smiled "Mhm okay." I smiled "Where's dad?" He asked "He is very busy today so I'm just going to take you and Madelyn." I said "Okay." He closed his book and got out of bed. "Okay my little prince." I picked him up. "What shall we wear today?" I smiled "I dunno." He said "Okay." I smiled "okay." He giggled "Your so silly." I smiled, I set him down. I got out leather pants, a white riding shirt, and a black vest with gold and white detailing. I put in on him. "Okay I'm going to get you sister ready, do you want to come or keep reading your book?" I asked "Read my book." He said "Okay." I said, I kissed his forehead then walked out. I went to Madelyn's room and she was cuddled with Bailey who was twice the size of her. She was using him as a pillow. She loves that dog. It's cute, she takes him everywhere. I went over and lightly shook her. "Madelyn wake up." I said lightly. "Mhm mommy." She said, she stood up in bed and wrapped her hands around my neck and leaned her body weight on me. I picked her up. "Do you wanna go for a picnic?" I smiled "Yes! Can we bring bailey?" She smiled "Sure." I smiled, she jumped out of my arms and ran to her closet. "Hi buddy." I smiled petting him. She came back out in a light blue dress that looked absolutely adorable on her. "You look so pretty Madelyn." I smiled "Thank you mommy." She giggled spinning around. I smiled then picked her up. "Bailey come." I said, he got out of bed and followed after me. We walked out of her room. "Please tell the servants to prepare a picnic for my children and I." I said "Right away your grace." She said, Madelyn ran to James's room with Bailey following behind her. I went in to his room. "Okay guys lets go." I smiled "Yay!" They giggled, they ran down the hall with Bailey barking and running after them. We got to the courtyard and they picnic was already done. "Please tell my husband I decided to take my children by myself." I said "Yes your grace." He said. We got in carriage in Madelyn sat with Bailey's head on her lap and James day on my lap. After a half an hour we arrived. A guard helped me out of the carriage. Once I got out I help James and Madelyn. This is my favorite place. There is long grass with a path to shorter grass where you can look over a cliff to the ocean. It's beautiful. I grabbed a blanket and the picnic basket, Madelyn and James started running in front of me. "Be carful!" I said once I got down the path they were playing the long grass with Bailey. I laid the blanket out and put the picnic basket down. "Mommy come play!" James giggled, I stood up and ran to them. "Mommy your It." Madelyn giggled touching my hand then started running away. "I'm going to get you guys." I giggled running after them.
