The Awakening

Two days later
Mary's point of view
I woke up to the baby kicking. I smiled at my stomach and rubbed it a little to let it know Mommy is here and it stopped then I realized Francis wasn't cuddled next to me. That's weird. I rolled to my side and he wasn't there either. God I'm starving. I put my robe on walked to the kitchens. Everyone was staring at me like I just came back from the dead. I walked into the kitchen. "Your grace." They all bowed "Hi, can I just get some raspberries and blueberries?" I asked "Of course your grace." She said then came back with a bowl of fruit. "Thank you." I smiled "Your grace if you don't mind me asking, how are you feeling?" She asked. "Um I'm fine, why?" I asked "Just wondering about my future Queen's well being." She said "Well thank you for asking." I smiled then walked out. That was weird. I walked down the hall eating my berries. The baby started kicking. "I know your a hungry baby." I giggled to myself, again people stared at me as I walked down the hall. I'm used to people staring at me but not like this. I went to the throne room to see if Francis was there but he wasn't. Cathrine ran up to me and hugged me. "Oh my god what are you doing?!" I asked "You don't remember anything?" She asked "Cathrine your scaring me." I said "Mary you don't remember what happened a few days ago?" She asked "Um no, what happened?" I asked "We need to get you back to bed." She said pushing me out the hall. "What's your husbands name?" She asked "Francis." I said "How far along are you?" She asked "Six and a half months." I said "When did you and Francis get married?" She asked "Cathrine why are you asking me all this?" I asked "Because your having memory loss." She said "Memory loss? I remember going to sleep with Francis a couple hours ago and now he's not in bed and I'm starving." I said putting berries in my mouth. "Mary what day do you think it is?" She asked "Um Tuesday." I said "And what time?" She asked "I don't know like 10:00ish." I said "You need to lay down." She pushed me into me and Francis's room. "Cathrine seriously what's going on?" I asked "I promise Mary I will explain everything soon but I just need to go talk to someone now." She closed the door in my face. "Do not let anyone other than myself or the dauphin in there, and do not the let the dauphine out." She said. Oh my god! What the hell is going on? I laid down and tried to go to sleep. I was like half awake half asleep when Francis came in. He didn't even come say hi to me or even look at me he just went to take a bath then came back and changed into his night clothes. He climbed into bed and cuddled next to me, he put his nose next to my cheek. I put my hand on his cheek and touched my nose to his. He lightly kissed me. I smiled then kissed him back more passionately. He pulled away and his eyes were widened. "What's wrong?" I asked "Are you actually awake? Am I just dreaming this?" He asked "What? Your not dreaming anything? I went to go get food and your mother was acting really weird." I said "You don't remember passing out?" He asked "What are you talking about?" I asked "You have been in a sleeping trance these past five days." He said "Five days? Oh my god! I don't remember that at all." I said "Oh I love you Mary." He hugged me then sprinkled kisses all over me. "Francis your mother said something about memory loss but I remember everything just not that night." I said "It's okay baby you probably don't want to remember that." He kissed me. "Your mother said I'm not allowed to leave this room well at least that's what she told the guards." I said "I'll take care of that." He said "Is the baby okay?" I asked "Yes the babies fine, how are you feeling?" He asked "I'm okay, I'm actually better then okay." I said "Good, I'm going to go get the doctor." He smiled "Okay." I smiled, he kissed me then walked out. I heard him tell the guards to let me leave at my command. He came back a few minutes later with the doctor, he held my hand as the doctor made sure everything was okay. "Everything seems to be healthy your grace." The doctor said "Okay thank you." I smiled "It was my pleasure your grace." He said then walked out. "Oh my god I have such a head ache." I said "You have the flu." He said "What? I didn't know that! How do you know that?" I laughed "Because my mother told me, you might not have the flu and just a head ache because you know my mother has been out of practice for awhile." He laughed. "Well I expect you to stay in bed with me because I did that with you." I laughed "I will stay in your bed for as long as you want." He laughed "Good." I smiled then kissed him. "I love you baby." He smiled "Me baby or this baby?" I pointed to my stomach giggling. "Both babies." He smiled then kissed me.
