Francis's point of view
James is so unbelievably perfect, I love him so much. But he does not sleep well, at all. Mary and I take turns getting up. Well Mary is still very tired from giving birth. And of course, he just started crying. I got out of bed and went over to his crib. "Hi little guy." I smiled then picked him up. He continued to cry on my shoulder. "Hey, don't cry James. Daddy's here." I said, he stopped crying. Thank god. I coddled him for a few more minutes then put him back in his crib. He started crying again. "Okay your going to sleep in Mommy and daddy's bed tonight." I picked him up again and walked back over to bed. "What are you doing?" Mary asked "He keeps crying if he sleep in his crib so I'm putting him in bed with us." I said "Come here James." She smiled then took him from me. "Are you hungry my love?" She pulled down her night gown. James started breastfeeding. "Has he been crying for a while?" She asked coddling him. "Not really." I said "Well he seems very hungry even though he has ate thirteen times since you came out of me a two days ago." She laughed "Well he is in a whole new world." I smiled "All done?" She smiled then wiped James's face then pulled her night gown on and laid James in between us. He started screaming bloody murder. "Oh my goodness James." She picked him up. "Why don't we go for a walk." I said "James let's go with daddy." She smiled then got out of bed. "Can you hold him a second while I put my robe on?" I asked "Yeah of course." She said then sat on the chaise and played with James. "Okay I'm ready." I said, she handed me James then put her her cloak on then got a fur blanket and wrapped around James. "Where is his hat that Greer knit him?" She asked "I don't know probably in his nursery with the rest of the baby gifts." I said "Thank you Francis that's so much help." She said "Well what do you want me to say!?" I asked "Never mind." She said then went in James's nursery and came back five minutes later with his hat. She put it on him the took him from me. "You look so handsome." She smiled "Me or the baby?" I laughed "The baby." She said then walked out. "Mary are you seriously mad at me?" I asked "No I'm not mad at all." She said "Really?" I asked "Francis I just need a little bit of help from you. When I ask where something is maybe you could say it's okay Mary I will go get it!" She said "Okay look Mary I'm sorry, I agree I should help you with things which I do but I don't see anything that I did wrong in that moment." I said "I'm sorry francy." She cried "Shh it's okay, what's wrong?" I asked "I don't know, I'm still hurting so bad and I'm still having mood swings." She said "It's okay, it's okay been a couple days. A lot of things have changed for you, for nine months you have been carrying a child and now it's odd because you don't have anything left to protect and take care of but you do baby." I said "Francis it's not that, I don't know what it is." She said "We will figure it out sweetheart." I said "Okay Francy." She said "I love you Mary." I said "I love you too." She said "And I also love you James, yes I do." I smiled picking James up and holding him in the air. He started crying. "Oh it's okay James." Mary smiled, he stopped crying and we walked to the gardens. James looked up and smiled at the stars. "Mommy likes those too." I smiled "Come here James." Mary smiled then took him from me. She walked over to the grass by the lake and sat down in the grass. I went and sat next to her. "Mary the suns coming up." I laughed "I know, but he's sleeping so just leave him be." She smiled "We should go back inside, it's getting chilly." I said "Yes we should." She smiled then we walked back up to our room. "Close the curtains please." Mary said "Right away your grace." I laughed "Oh shut up." She laughed then set James down in his crib. "He's not crying, it's a miracle." I smiled "Shh! Don't wake him up!" She said slowly walking over to bed. "Let's go to bed." I laughed getting in bed. "I'm so tired." She said laying her head on my chest. "Me too." I smiled as I smelt her hair. "Mary why did you tell the midwife that in the delivery room?" I asked "Because I could never burden you with the choice of me or our baby, it would be an impossible choice. If I were to die in that room at your command you would never forgive yourself, you would spend the rest of your life mourning instead of raising our son." She said "I don't know how you could have ever made that choice." I said "I love you and James more than anything, it was the easiest choice I ever made." She said "Your so strong Mary." I kissed the top of her head. "We should probably go to sleep now." She smiled "Yes I'm quite tired." I smiled then pressed my nose against hers. "We made a beautiful baby." She giggled "Yes we did, we should make more." I smiled getting on top of her. "Francis as much as I want to I'm still super sore." She said "Oh sorry." I got off her. "In a week or two we can." She smiled "Okay." I smiled holding her hand. "But we could just make out for a little while." She smiled "Oh come here." I pulled her on top of me. "You can touch but that's it." She smiled "Okay baby." I smiled then kissed her.
