My phone rang in my pocket once Pattie and Justin left and I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Graciiiieeee!" I heard Justin's voice.
I laughed. "Yes?"
"Guess what?" he questioned excitedly.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Mommy is taking me to McDonalds and is getting me a toy! I hope I get Yoshi! He's my favorite! I like his car!" I couldn't stop smiling as he continued to rant about Yoshi.
He's just so freaking adorable!
"Wow, that's amazing!"
"Yeah, and-"
He was cut off by a beeping sound.
"Mommy, what does this mean?" I heard Justin ask.
"Oh, my phone is dying!" Pattie sighed.
Justin's faint gasp filled my ears.
"It's dying! Mouth to mouth, mommy!" Justin screamed.
I heard Pattie shout "No Justin, don't put the phone in your mouth!" before the phone died.
I laughed, picturing the scene in my head. I sighed happily and made my way to Nick's hospital room.
"Wassup, my ni-nugget." I stopped myself when I saw my mom staring at me with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah, uhm, ni-nugget. It's what everyone is saying now." Nick backed me up.
This is why I love him. He's the best brother ever.
"Uh huh." my mom raised an eyebrow.
"Yeeaahhh." I stretched the word out nervously.
I might be 23 but my mom is still intimidating.
"So, who were you talking on the phone with?" she questioned.
"What do you mean?" I raised an eyebrow.
"When I went to get water earlier, I saw you on the phone. Who was it?" she interrogated.
"Just a friend." I replied, my cheeks heated up at the thought of my mom seeing me laughing like a maniac.
"Boy or girl?" she raised an eyebrow.
I sighed. "He was in a coma for 20 years and just woke up yesterday but thinks he's 6 years old."
Her eyes widened. "Are you serious?"
I nodded. "Yeah and he's become attached to me."
She chuckled. "Well, is he cute?"
My eyes widened in disbelief. "Mother!"
"Is he?" she pushed.
I blushed. "Yeah, he is."
