"You can't do that!" I heard a familiar voice scream.

I raised both my eyebrows in surprise and stepped into the building that had the name 'McCann Enterprises' on the front.

I instantly saw my mom shouting at the lady in the front desk as everyone stopped what they were doing and were staring at my mother.

"I'm sorry, ma'am but I can't-"

"No you're not." My mom snapped. "You never are. You can all go to hell."

My mom spun around and walked past my frozen figure.

What the fuck just happened?

I shot them a weary smile and followed after my fuming mother. I saw she was in her car so I got in.

"What happened?" I questioned.

"I'll, uhm, tell you at home." She sniffed and I sighed.

"Wipe your eyes before driving." I instructed and stepped out of her car.

I got in mine and drove to my former house. While I got out of my car, I saw my mom park next to me.

"Keys." I held my hand out.

She dug in her purse silently and handed me the keys.

I opened the door and instantly walked upstairs. I'm gonna let my mom calm down a bit before I talk to her.

"Oh brother...!" I screamed.

I heard his groan from his room. I didn't bother knocking and just walked in.

Thank God he's not into porn yet!

Well, as far as I know....

NEXT SUBJECT

"Wassup lil bro?" I greeted.

"Just finished watching porn. What about you?"

I choked on my own spit and he just laughed.

"Just kidding."

I rolled my eyes.

"Don't you have homework?" I inquired.

"Ugh, you sound like mom." He grimaced and I giggled.

"Well...?" I trailed off, expecting him to answer my question.

"Nah, I already did it in class." He shrugged and my eyes widened in fake shock.

"Nick Adams actually doing his work in class? Oh my God, it's the end of the world!" I teased and he rolled his eyes, shaking his head with a smile.

"Well, y'know, I just didn't want to do stuff at home." He replied nonchalantly and this time it was my turn to roll my eyes.

"What's your GPA?" I questioned.

"3.8, why?" He raised an eyebrow and my eyes widened.

"3.8?! Dude that's higher than anything I got in my entire lifetime." I shrieked and he huffed.

"You're exaggerating." He stated.

"No, I'm not." I promised.

"Look, I'm gonna go figure out what's wrong with mom. Stay here." I informed and he nodded, continuing to watch tv.

I walked towards the stairs and began going down the steps but stopped when I heard sobbing.

This is going to be a long day.
