A crash sounded from upstairs that broke me out of my laughing fit. What the heck was that? I wanted to go see what the crash was but fear overcame me. I could only bring myself to grab my phone and curl up in a blanket in fear. I heard footsteps come down the stairs when I tried to open my phone to text my mom. I pulled the blanket over my head as the footsteps reached the bottom of the stairs.

Lying quietly on the couch, I listened to the sound of footsteps hoping they'd go away. I heard them stop by the back door. The footsteps started towards the living room. The sound of the television in the background helped soothe my racing mind. I also took a deep, quiet breathe to help. There were no sounds other than the television, providing background noise. It became too quiet.

Pulling the blanket my head, my eyes met with a man wearing a full-face mask. I also caught a glimpse of his military uniform. Unfortunately, it wasn't one that I recognized. A hood was thrown over my head, cutting off my train of thought. My vision went black as I was struck on the head with something hard.
