"of course, mga anak, i love you so much."

their ninang, whom they haven't seen for some time now, kissed each of them and so proudly said this in national tv. what she didn't expect was for him to really kiss her, on the prodding of one of their godfathers, as the rest of the dabarkads waited and looked on. well, them and the rest of the nation who were all tuned in at that moment. his arm around her, he boldly turned her slightly and kissed his favorite spot, that slight arc where her ear and cheek meet.

"ang dali-dali mong kausap!"

her co-manager pinched his ear, something he's used to getting whenever they tease them. his ears were already red even before the pinching anyway, what with them getting some alone time before they had to bring the birthday cake out on stage. he was away for a week from the show, and though they are constantly on facetime, it was only today that they'd had the chance to be together. she'd scold him whenever he makes any attempt to fetch her, telling him to just rest instead of plying all the way to where she is.

and so even if he still needs to leave again for another obligation, he didn't want to miss today's show. it was a few hours of being home, with family, with the love of his life. a few hours well spent.

that kiss he gave her was merely an extension of what they had been doing backstage anyway. it was like second nature, and it made her smile. her man was getting bolder, and it made her more than proud.

"it's my life, it's now or never. i ain't gonna live forever. i just wanna live while i'm alive."
